Day Four And Counting ...

I'm into my fourth day without rice and to be really honest, I think I'm beginning to adapt to it! Oh my god, I am losing it ... hehehe ... Well, it's a good sign at least, right? My record is to try to go the whole week without touching a single grain of rice. Now that would be an achievement for me :)

I was kinda hungry this afternoon and so was wifey but we didn't want to have anything too heavy and most definitely NO rice, which is what we normally have. So we decided to head to KFC, now wait a minute, before you go screaming about how unhealthy KFC really is, we just settled for the Garden Salad with chicken poppers and orange juice. That was the nearest and only place I could think off where we could get salad at that particular time besides have to drive to some shopping mall that is.


Though it looked mighty small when we ordered it, it was pretty filling by the time we finished it. I was surprised by it though, cos it takes a lot to actually make a pig like me full! LOL! After lunch we headed to our favourite hypermarket to get more greens and stuff for dinner tonight. Care to take a wild guess what we're having tonight? Yup, you guessed it, salad with poppers and soup again for dinner tonight. I'm looking forward to it actually ... hehehe ...

'Yup, you're really losing it Spiffy old boy. I didn't think I'd ever live to see the day you were looking forward to having salad for dinner again! The world is probably going to end soon!'

Hey, people change, k? And will you butt out of my post, please? I'm actually pretty happy today cos tomorrow is a public holiday and tonight is idol night. They're doing Neil Diamond tonight and I'm kinda looking forward to seeing how they sing his songs. Oh and Iron Man, the movie is also being released today in the cinemas and I've been waiting for that movie like forever! I think I'll take wifey and the boys to catch it tomorrow if we can get tickets that is.

I wonder if my buddy wants to tag along and see it. Maybe I'll give him a call, once I top up my phone card later today. Till tomorrow then, you guys have a great Wednesday and an even more wonderful Thursday :D

The Spaceman And His Greens ...

Being a spaceman has its setbacks too. For one thing I have to watch my weight or my rocket ship ain't going to lift off at all ... LOL! The truth of the matter is I've gone on a diet. Yes, even macho spacemen like me have to be put on diets from time to time. Sad but true ... sigghhh!

Actually I've been wanting to go on a diet for ages but have kept putting it off. I was just making one excuse after another and Mrs. Spiff finally put her foot down and decided that we must go on a diet or we're going to end up looking like one of those slimy bug eyed Zorkians!

So, since Sunday we've been munching away on salads and nothing else. No rice, no meat, well, the salad had bacon bits in it which could be constituted as meat though but who's counting, ya?

The picture below is what I had for dinner today which consisted of the salad, garlic bread and chicken soup. Surprisingly I was kinda stuffed from just eating that though I did get hungry again a few hours later. I don't know how long I'm going to be able to sustain this diet but so far I've been holding out. What did I get myself into this time ...

The Long & Winding Week ...

Ah, the glorious weekend is here again and I can finally put up my feet and relax. Like I've been complaining in my other personal blog, it has been a very hectic week for me. Work just came in non-stop one after another leaving me with little or no time to even catch my breathe. Every client I had kept on looking for me to do either this or that for them.

I wish there was some way I could have hidden from them so they couldn't find me, I have this strange hunch they've got some kind of gps tracking on my person somewhere ... LOL! Ok, ok, I've got too wild an imagination. Must be from reading all those adventure and conspiracy theory books I have.

Well, at least the weekend's here and I can finally get some much needed rest. Mrs. Spiff and me have done all the chores already, well, not completely, there's still some laundry in the machine but Mrs. Spiff is handling that which gives me some time to blog for a bit, seeing as how I couldn't really blog all that much last week though I did manage to squeeze in my trademark long post in my personal blog ... hehehe ... Hey, what can I say, I just love blogging :D

I'm just going to stay in this weekend, don't really feel like going anywhere, not that there are much places we could go that we already haven't been to for millions of times. It can be kinda boring going to the same places every darn week. I'm just going to immerse myself in a good book, one which I've read for about a few million times already, seeing as how I don't have any new ones at the moment. I really need to get some new stuff soon. Hmmm, now maybe going out wouldn't be such a bad idea after all ... hehehe ...

That Girl Called Mother Nature ...

If I asked you what colour an iceberg was, you'd probably say:

'Why, it's white of course, you silly spaceman!'

Well, up to a few minutes ago, I would have to definitely agree with you but not anymore. I was just a few minutes ago doing my rounds of blog hopping, checking my emails and Entrecarding and came across this interesting blog called A Fish Blog.Com and it had this strange story about a marbled looking iceberg.

Now, I thought it was a hoax cos as far as I knew icebergs only came in one color. But the pictures he posted indicated otherwise. My first thoughts upon setting my eyes on the pictures where:

'Photoshop!'

But it intrigued me and upon a little more deep research (ahem, makes me sound like a scientist ... hehehe) I discovered that they are actually real pictures and that story has been broadcast around the world since, urmmm, March, I think. Obviously this also proves something else about me. I don't really know what the heck is really happening in this world! LOL!




Anyways, I thought I'd post these incredible pictures here for you guys to see. These picture were taken by Leif Nøttestad, a scientist participating in a survey of the Antarctic Ocean. I wonder if after their research there, they could start a research on acne treatments? LOL!

I still think thats one cool looking iceberg. It's like nothing I've ever seen or imagined an iceberg could be. The wonders of Mother Nature and some of you people are just trying your darn best to kill her ... sigghhh!

The Top Five ...

I'm not really impressed with the results of American Idol this time round. As always, I'll get a buzz from Mrs. Spiff, she's like my cute little personal American Idol updater ... hehehe ... This time though she didn't buzz me cos I got home for lunch just as she was checking the results online.

And when she told me Carly got docked, I went:

'Huh? What gives ...???'

I was for sure thinking Brooke was going to be eliminated this time round. I was so sure cos she stank last night. I thought her start stop start again opening was in bad taste and then even when she finally got going, she was terrible. And I thought for a fact, she'd be the one.


But then, some people in America don't think so. What is wrong with you people? LOL! I didn't think Carly deserved to be eliminated. I don't really like her all that much, but she did do a pretty good job last night. It wasn't a fair result as far as I'm concerned.

But all that aside, I was fretting my pants off about how David Cook was going to do an Andrew Llyod Webber. I don't see him as someone who can do stuff from musicals. And I was seriously worried for him. But he did a good job. Not one of his best as far as I'm concerned, but good enough to pull it off. Yay for David Cook :D

The rest of them with the exception of Brooke and Jason Castro (sorry Rozella) did alright. I mean that was a pretty awful song choice for him I must say, but thankfully he pulled through cos I think he's one of the better talents there next to the two Davids, that is :D

Well, like I said a few postings ago, it's looking more like an all guys final week by week. I think I'm going to get myself some nice teak furniture to prepare myself for the finals in a couple of weeks time ... hehehe ...

Breathe Spiff, Breathe ...

Man, I'm so drained out and exhausted from work and I've still got hours and hours of work left. It's been a crazy and busy week since Monday and it looks like it's not going to end anytime soon. I don't even have time to breathe. The moment I step into the office it's work, work and more work. Darn, no time for a little blogging even ... LOL!

Well, I guess they do pay me to work after all so I shouldn't be complaining all that much. But it can get downright irritating when you cell phone just keeps ringing and ringing with people wanting this and that done for them and it's always urgent. Why can't someone for once call and say they need something done but to take my own sweet time doing. That would be awesome wouldn't it? And if pigs only flew!

I can't really do much about the phone calls though, unless I actually switch my cell off but that is not an option. My job depends on my cell. My clients don't bother calling my office if they need contact me and sometimes I find it a tad bit invasive, especially when they call me on Sundays. Are weekends not sacred anymore?

I know it's really unheard of not to own a cell phone in this day and age but sometimes I do wish I never ever owned one. At least that way, I'd still have whatever remnants of my privacy left, unlike today when my darn cell is like a part of me. As long as I have my cell switched on, I know I can never have real privacy. But that's the price we pay for being 'connected' at all times ... siggghhhh ...

Besides, I need my cell for text messaging Mrs. Spiff and asking her what's the dinner menu like ... hehehe ... I remember back when a cell phone was just a phone. All it could do was just make phone calls. Now, with the newer high tech ones, it's everything but a phone. With the amount of applications and SMS solutions designed for it, you can do wonders with it. I won't be surprised you could even use it to fly one day!

Now that's mobile marketing at it's best. Is there really anything you can't do with a cell phone these days? Now, it only I could get it to finish up my outstanding work for me, I'd be forever grateful to my cell ... LOL!

The Fight Back ...

It's been a really busy day for me. The moment I came in I've been swamped with work. Well, I knew I was going to be swamped with work since last week but I'd still like to bitch about it. It makes the work seem all the more justified ... LOL!

My cell has been ringing non stop all day from this particular client who just seem to not know what in heavens name they actually want in life and has found it particularly amusing to harass me for answers instead. Like as if I don't have enough of work as it is!

Oh well, I can't really complain and besides after being in this like for close to urmmm, 18 years or so, I should be used to stuff like these by now. But then, that was before I discovered a blog. Now that I have my own blog I can vent it all out here ... hehehe ... now, hopefully none of my clients actually discovers my blog and figures out it's them I'm bitching about, yes, it's YOU, YOU & also YOU! Giving me nothing but grieve all day. I'm sure you all secretly enjoy seeing me suffer, right?

At least the work day is almost over. That's a consolation. And I'm damn hungry by the way. I've decided to actually starve myself silly to loose some weight. I'm sick and tired of fighting a losing battle with my weight. Running doesn't help you reduce weight at all. It just keeps you healthy, that's all. I'm still stuck with this spare tire that I've been fighting a yo-yo battle with and I've decided for a major fight back by going on a diet.

So now you fat lard of a tummy, I'm going to get rid of you and work my way to having wonderful abs soon. And you ain't going to win, you hear me, fat belly? This time it's for keeps. I'm going to get rid of you once and for all. No more mercy, no more chances. It's all off or nothing. By the time I'm through with you, I expect to look like He-Man and be able to work on lighting fixtures with no problems whatsoever ... LOL! Ok maybe not on lighting fixtures la ...

The Most Embarrassing Tag!

This is going to be one of my more embarrassing post to date. And you wanna know why? Really? You do? Darn. I thought you'd say no and spare me the details of having to embarrass myself in my own blog! LOL!

I was bored, well sleepy was more like it. So I did the next best thing to keep myself awake. Blog Hop! LOL! Yes, it was either that or fall asleep on my desk, which really wasn't such a bad idea seeing as how I don't think my boss would be coming in for the day. And it's already 4.10 pm, she never, well, seldom comes in this late. But you just can't be too sure, so blog hopping was the safest bet.

Anyway, I came across this on both Syura and Shemah's blogs and thought it was funny. It's some kind of urrmmm decoder that decodes your name into something sexy, well apparently. I thought it was more like sleazy. But it sounded like fun and I went and tried mine just to see what sleazy name I could come up with. And I'm pretty darn happy with it ... LOL!

Now, that sure is one cool and sleazy name and it called me a stud some more ... hahaha ... Intense Fantastic Fantasies, now that really is sleazy, almost as sleazy as used cisco and please don't ask me to explain that ;P

Cook Is Out, Kristy Lee That is ...

Mrs. Spiff almost gave me a heart attack while driving today. There I was happily on my way home from an appointment this afternoon for lunch as usual. And suddenly my cells incoming text message alert goes off. I reach for it (I know I shouldn't when I'm driving so sue me ... LOL) and it reads:

'Cook is out! hehehe ...'

My eyes almost pop out of it's sockets and my heart almost stops (well, not really but it felt like it). What! How can David Cook get booted out? Didn't the three judges say he was out of this world? Didn't Simon say he was like a breath of fresh air? How can he be out with reviews like that. Oh and in case you didn't already know I'm a fan of David Cook.

I was about to call Mrs. Spiff when I see there's more text at the bottom so I scroll down and it reads:

Kristy Lee COOK, that is ... hahahaha!

I'm dumbstruck! Not because Kristy Lee is out. I was hoping she would go out but because Mrs. Spiff sure pulled a good one on me ... LOL! Normally it's me pulling such a stunt. I let out a huge sigh of relief! I knew David Cook wouldn't go out and I'm thankful that he didn't. I know some of you (Shemah & Rozella) think he's a pompous arrogant ass (LOL) but hey, I like the guy (and urmm, not the kind of like that's running through your filthy perverted minds, ok ... LOL!).

For all his arrogance and smugness, let's give the guy credit, ok? He is good and he does do a mean job with almost all the songs he's given. Granted, there were a few times I thought he sucked but just a few. Anyway, only 2 of my bottom three prediction came true. I predicted Brooke cos she sucked big time last night but somehow she made it through. Oh well, I seriously think it's going to be an all guys finals and I'll bet you all my usb flash drives on that being a fact :D

Infrequent Postings ...

Gosh, it's really been a while since I last updated this blog. I used to post much more frequently before, that is until Google docked my PR to zero and I had no more assignments and hence, no more postings ... LOL! But that doesn't mean I'm not going to post here anymore. I've just been busy with my personal blog and also some work, not forgetting a busted arm thrown into the picture.

Well, the arm is fine and the work are all completed and I do have a little spare time on my hands so I thought I'd pen a few, well maybe not pen, more like keyboard a few words here on the uncanny and crazy adventures of a quirky spaceman :D Not that I've had any adventures of late. Pillaging the universe doesn't pay as much as before so I've kept my activities more earth bound. And that hasn't been very bountiful either.

Well, at least I'm on leave tomorrow. Need to sort out some personal things with a certain Earth bound government department over here and I'm not looking forward to it. Those bunch of clowns that work there have never failed to disappoint me whenever I have to deal with them. I hope things have improved since the last time I visited them but I'm not holding my breath. It'll be way easier trying to figure out what a CAT5e is than getting any sort of intelligent answer from them. I'll be sure to bitch about it if things go all bad tomorrow, so stay tuned ... hehehe ...

I can't wait for tomorrow either cos it's Idol night and I know half the population of you women have probably given up on it since Mr. Michael Johns was booted out (rather unfairly I might add), but my favourite, David Cook is still in the running and evil as it may seem, Michaels elimination gives David a better shot at the title. Not many people, with the exception of David Archuleta is anywhere near David Cook's class :D I guess we'll just have to wait till tomorrow to find out. Oh my god, I just remember, it's Mariah Carey night and it's no easy feat singing her songs. This is going to be fun :D

Thank God For The Internet!

The internet is one of the greatest inventions ever created as far as I'm concerned! I don't think I'd ever get through the day without it. Take for instance, right now. I'm actually getting live messages from Mrs. Spiff on my yahoo messenger about American Idol eliminations (I know I could check myself but it's better this way, at least I can chat with her too ... hehehe). I couldn't really wait till tonight to find out who goes out. And so far I'm not pleased about who the bottom three are. Well, at least David Cook is safe :D

And I have to thank the internet for that. If it was back in them old days, I'd probably only get the news tomorrow! It does open up a whole new avenue for me though. I've always had this idea to actually sell stuff online. I've been toying with this idea of actually going around taking pictures of stuff and then making a little online shop to sell the images something like a photo library or something. I know a few guys who actually do this and make a pretty decent amount of money.

I guess it wouldn't be all that hard to set up. Get a nice camera, go out and take pictures, then set up a nice and easy to use shopping cart software online so people can pay me (which is the most important thing here ... LOL!) if they actually buy my images and I'm all set :D Finding a good ecommerce software shouldn't be all that hard to do. There's always Ashop Commerce to look at. They're one of the leading providers of hosted shopping cart software that offers the complete solution for online selling.

Not a bad idea, huh? Well, now comes another important aspect to all this. Saving enough money to buy a decent DSLR camera ... LOL! I don't think my little digital camera would be able to take any pictures worth selling ... hehehe ... so, what are you guys waiting for? See the donate button on my right hand side bar? An All Guy Final ...

I have a confession to make, just like that good for nothing Nick fellow, I'm addicted to American Idol! There, I've said it, you can stop laughing now. Spacemen need their entertainment too you know. It can get boring back on Planet Zork, besides have you heard one of those bug eyed Zorkians sing? Man, you'd want to slit your throat if you did ... LOL!

Well, with that admission out of the way and judging by last nights performance and also the past few weeks, my bets would be an all guy final. Right now, the girls are nowhere near the top 3 guys (in my humble opinion). The only girl I say who has any chance of upstage David C, David A and Michael J is probably Brooke! The rest, to borrow a line from Simon, were forgettable ...

And based on last nights performance, even though I'm a David Cook fan, I thought Michael brought the house down. I think that guy has a secret strategy, he was probably been holding back in the first few concerts and is slowly coming into his element right now. I guess these 3 guys are the 3 that the rest need to beat if they want to go further. My only worry is, even though Cook is a pretty strong contestant, he may not have as big a fan base as Archuleta and Johns. That could be his only downside to making the final 2 but he's got his career set out for him already no matter what the outcome.


My bets on who's getting the boot would be Ramiele or Syesha with Castro joining them in the bottom 3 to make the numbers. But then I'm no music critic, being tone deaf and all that ... LOL! We'll just have to wait for tonight or atleast until my darling Mrs. Spiff messages me the results a little later in the afternoon. She just can't wait to know who's going to get kicked out and to be honest neither can I ... LOL!

Better Late Than Never ...

I know I'm a little bit too late in writing about this. In fact I know everyone in the blogsphere already knows about this site but I've been hesitant to post anything about them cos I was afraid of getting my PR docked by the powers that be but since it's already a big fat zero now, I can finally dig this post that's been in my assignment inbox for ages and boast about it ... hehehe ...

Ok, now for those of you who don't already know, I'm going to talk about something called Pay Per Post. And as for those of you who are already aware of this wonderful site where you get paid to blog, just shut up and quit snickering already, ok? LOL! I'm know I'm way behind on this assignment but better late than never.

I first heard about this site through my blog hopping sessions all those months ago. And as fate would have it, I was in the midst of trying to monetize my blog, so this seemed like something heaven sent. It's basically a site that pays you good money to do what you do best, which is blog. I don't really need to elaborate what they do cos if you really haven't heard of them, then you probably need to get out of that shell you've been living under and go out and smell the roses once in while ... LOL!

I know that from the moment I signed up with them I've been making some pretty decent money with the assignments available for me (even with PR0 blog).
