Manga, The Fruit?

I'm not really a fan of Manga. In fact for a long time now I actually thought it referred to the Mango fruit cos the Malay name for Mango is 'Mangga' (albeit spelled with an extra 'G') ... see the similarities? I couldn't fathom why they even dedicated a whole channel on Astro for mangoes ... LOL!

Well, now that you all know what a real doofus I can be, I found out, from my son to be exact that Manga relates to the some Japanese form of animation or comics or something along those lines. When I asked him to elaborate more, he gave me this 'there is no hope for you look' and told me to go watch channel 715! The cheek of that boy ... LOL!

Anyway, for those of you in the know, here is something you can look out for on the 11th and 12th of June cos Bleach the Movie would be released and all you Manga fanatics out there should be more than happy.

I've heard some of you have your own Manga names. Maybe I should get one for myself so I won't be so left behind with the times. And being a handsome, macho and sometimes arrogant spaceman, I think Yuudai which means great hero would suit me just fine ... LOL! What do you think?

The Bookworm

This is one tag I'm actually looking forward to doing. And you all know how much I love tags so this must really be good for me to not keep it on the back burner for the next 3 years or so ... LOL!

Well, this tag is from none other than Rozella, who else but the girl who's main objective in life is to tag me for the next 3 generations or so for wishing her beloved Jason Castro off American Idol (you guys set a date for the wedding yet? LOL!).

The only reason for the quick response in doing this tag is because it's all about reading and I am a self confessed bookworm. I love reading. Reading is a passion for me. I'm generally not a very fussy person when it comes to reading. I'll read anything I can get my hands on, from novels, magazines, comics, leaflets I find in my mailbox right down to the graffiti I find on the wall of the mens room ... LOL!

But I do have my favourites too. I love the adventure and thriller kind of novels, such as those from Clive Cussler, Dan Brown, Dale Brown, Harold Coyle and right down to just about any Star Trek books I can get my hands on. In fact I've got so many Star Trek novels that it's already beginning to outnumber all my other novels which is also quite a lot mind you. Then there's my comics to be content with that the bookshelf in my room is just overflowing.

*Note to all my blogging friends: Bookshelf - good birthday gift for Spiff! Hint, Hint. LOL!*

Well, this tag is very simple. All you need to do is pick up the nearest book, go to page 123, if the book doesn't have page 123, then you're doomed for all eternity ... LOL! Well, just pick up another book then and go to page 123. Next, find the fifth sentence and post the next three sentences. I hope that makes an ounce of sense to you. And finally tag the next 5 people and don't forget to acknowledge the creep, urrrmmmm, person who tagged you ... LOL!

Ok, since I'm at work and the nearest book I have on my table next to me is the Malaysia Airports Annual Report (oh, the joy!) I'll flip to page 123 (the darn annual report has 400 pages by the way) and it just so happens that particular page has only 2 sentences so I'll just list it down anyway:

A strong foundation is the base of a strong future. Our foundation is built upon our core values and commitment to continuously improve our business practices and to enhance the socio-economic opportunities of the communities we serve.

Ok, now I don't know if that is meaningful or not, but it probably means something to somebody ... LOL! So now I'm supposed to tag 5 more people but everyone of my regular blogging friends have already been tagged with this post so I'm not going to tag anyone. Isn't that so nice of me? :D

Space Dock!

Ok, I know this is not something a spaceman should be talking about but today I'm going to talk about clothes. Yes really, clothes. No kidding, I'm seriously going to talk about clothes. Look, you can stop laughing already cos you seriously think us macho spacemen only wear spacesuits and nothing but spacesuits? Gee, which planet are you from? LOL!

Well, actually it's more like my pants that I'm going to talk about. I'm not a particularly fussy person when it comes to clothes. Afterall, how sexy can a spacesuit really be, yes? But when it comes to pants, now that, I'm very particular with. I have a great fondness for Dockers brand of pants!

As far as I'm concerned, they're one of the worlds most comfortable pants around. I mean, I travel to all kinds of planets in this galaxy and when I'm not in my spacesuit, you'll always find me in my khaki Dockers. It's just made for the rough stuff I encounter daily in my line of work. And besides, they don't make my butt look big ... LOL!

Oh and since I'm on the subject of pants and Dockers in general, if you're at all interested, there is this Dockers contest that's going on at nbc.com. This contest lets you make a short video commercial about you and your favourite pants (and it'd better be a Dockers no less ... hehehe) and then submit it to nbc.com and you just might have a chance to actually have your video featured on The Jay Leno show. That is if you win of course.

So, come on already people, get cracking with that video cam of yours and start shooting something dramatic about your pants so we can all have a good laugh. The Dockers contest isn't going to be around forever you know, so I'd suggest you hurry along now. And until I see your pathetic little attempt of a video, I'll just settle for one of these for now :D

Crazy Monday!

It's been such a busy Monday that I hardly had time to even blog or blog hop. The moment I stepped into the office, a whole barrage of work came piling down my way. It's only now that I have some little time for myself. It's generally been a pretty decent Monday, except for the work part ... LOL! We even have another new girl in the office and that's going to help a lot. I didn't even know we had a new staff until I came in this morning. Well, at least the staffing problems is slowly being solved :)

The weekend that just went by was a pretty decent one except for that small carnival thingy I mentioned about in my previous post. Saturday night was spent in front of the TV watching the finals of Akademi Fantasia and it's good to note that the person I was rooting for won :D This girl from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah called Stacy won hands down. She totally deserved to win.

I've been watching her progress and she's the only one who put in loads of effort to improve herself. And she did her very best during every concert and the judges had nothing but praises for her from day one. I was only worried, that this being a popularity contest, the winner would be decided by text messaging votes, that she wouldn't get enough votes to win. But in the end, when the results were announced, she actually trounced everyone in terms of voting percentage. Way to go Stacy!

I was on the edge of my seat when they were announcing the winner. You could hear my heart beating like a runaway train ... LOL! And the stupid host kept on delaying the announcement with his utterly boring antics. I hope they don't pick him for the next season cos he was really no good whatsoever! Well, Mrs. Spiff and me were overjoyed that Stacy won in the end :D It took quite a while after that for my heart to actually settle down that I was calm enough to finally do the luxury watches article that I needed to work on.

The Carnival

What a really uneventful, totally waste of time and tiring first half of the day it has been. I could have had more fun blasting Zorkian bugs to Pluto and back. I'm sure those bugs would not disappoint.

And it's all because of a badly organized event held by a certain big corporation. And just who are they? Well, Astro, our wonderfully high tech satellite television company, thats who. Today is the finale of the local talent show produced by them called Akademi Fantasia, sort of something like American Idol. And it's into its sixth season now.

I'm not really a huge fan of this reality show but I got a little hooked on it cos Mrs. Spiff is a fan. The show runs over a period of 10 weeks and comes down to the finale today. The finale is tonight and they've been promoting this carnival that they're going to have in the morning at the location of the finals which is in Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil.

So I thought why not visit it, since it's really not all that far fro where I was living and it would be fun getting to see some of the contestants and the booths they have on offer. Mrs. Spiff, being a huge fan was overjoyed, since she's never been to the previous carnivals before.

So, this morning, we woke up early, checked our blogs, emails and had a quick breakfast and headed to the location. Now comes the fun part. We were expecting crowds of people, loads of banners and buntings, a carnival like situation but when we reached there, the place looked kinda empty. We knew for a fact this was the proper place. So, I drove around the whole huge stadium area (there were 2 different stadiums in this location) and saw some tents that were in the process of being put up.

Ok, no way could they be only just now putting up the tents for the event I told Mrs. Spiff. The festivities were to supposed to start at 10.00am and it was already 11.00am and no way do you set up tents on the day itself. I should know cos I've done events before! But there were no signs at all about this so called carnival, nada, zilch, zero! So, I parked the car and we walked like at least one kilometre around the 3 stadiums in the hot blistering sun to see if we could find the carnival and finally, there it was tucked in this small nook away from the main roads and it didn't look like a carnival at all.

Maybe we were too early or something but there were only a few handful of people there and the booths didn't offer anything carnival like! And the worst thing was the advertising for it. Not one single signage was put up to direct you to the carnival, not one. It's not wonder there was no one around. I think I should recommend my Agency to them so we can teach them a thing or two about advertising and promoting an event! What a waste of time it was for us.

To say we were disappointed would have been an understatement. We were baked in the sun walking like lost tourist looking for the place and to finally find it and see how it was organized was really not the way I wanted to spend my Saturday. I should have just slept in late. At least I'll know better next time. I'll be home tonight watching the finals in the comforts of my own home.

On another note, it really is not cheap going out these days, just that half day disaster of an outing we had cost quite a bit. The amount I paid for the toll, the parking, the drinks and then we did a little shopping as well came up to quite a sum. Everything out there has gone up in price and I don't think I can sustain going out every weekend. Sometimes it's a good thing to have credit cards, it can be a lifesaver, especially this close to the month end. But then it can also be a bad thing cos you tend to max your cards out pretty fast.

Maybe I should send in an application for another card, something that gives me instant credit approval the moment I sign up. I'm sure there are loads of them out there for me to choose from and I know Credit-Land is one site that I can trust to find one that suits my needs. They feature some of the best and most reliable online credit card applications and has been referred to as the authoritative source of consumer information by CNN.com. And it's so convenient to use their comparison table to compare online offers for instant approvals, low interest and balance transfers from the likes of Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

I guess with the escalating cost of things, having another credit card handy for emergencies seems like a good idea, ya?

Too Much Information ...

It's been a boring day at the office. And I was eager to go home and watch the result show of American Idol tonight but not any longer since I accidentally stumbled on who the winner is. I knew I shouldn't have gone blog hopping today. Don't worry, for any of you who still don't know who the winner is and don't want to know, I won't spoil it for you. Sometimes technology can be a bad thing.

As expected the performance last night was closely fought, though Simon didn't really give David Cook decent reviews. I did agree with him on DC's second song though. I wished they could have at least written a better song for him. That song was just too plain rockish for him. Mrs. Spiff said he was suited to the more angst driven rockish kinda tunes and I absolutely agree with her.

That aside I think they both did pretty well and this is by far one of the best finals I've seen since I started watching American Idol. I just wish I didn't already know the results. Oh well, I guess I could just act surprised and hoot for joy when they announce the winner later and pretend like I don't know the results yet. But I think somehow that won't be the same.

Oh well, I guess I could always look into what this progesterone assignment is all about. It might even turn out to be exciting ... LOL!

It Only Takes A Spark ...

You know, I'm getting a little sick and tired of roaming around the galaxy and all that. It's not easy going around plundering and bullying those Zorkian bugs all day long to earn a living. Besides those bugs stink big time, man. I don't think they've ever heard the term deodorant. I need to do something less stressful.

But then with the price of basically everything in this freaking planet going up I need to find ways to make a little extra on the side. I can't depend on my regular full time office job alone. Yes, even a spaceman has a full time office job, not that I'm very proud of it but it pays the bills, so don't you start giving me grieve about it okay!

So, when I first heard about SocialSpark, I was intrigued. Here was a chance for me to earn a little more money doing something I already enjoy, which is blogging. So, I signed up immediately. I'm always on the lookout for opportunities like these. And I was impressed with what they had.

Oh, and you don't really have to worry about page rank anymore. The really nice thing about SocialSpark is that your blog is based on their own ranking system. You're not stuck with some dubious page ranking algorithm to qualify for any of their opportunities which is pretty varied in choice.

The other aspect of SocialSpark is the pretty cool feature they have where you can socialize with your fellow SocialSparkers and give them some props. I also saw a host familiar faces and I felt right at home :) And it's a good way to also make new friends, which I've so far made quite a few. In fact, my blog was featured yesterday as the featured blog and I am so happy :D Can you see the big smile on my face? LOL! They also have a code of ethics that they're proud of which is:

-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly

So, if I were you, I'd be heading right over there this very minute and signing up with them and once you do, don't forget to look me up and add me to your friend list, ok?

Once Bitten Twice Shy ...

My car is out of the shop already, well, it's been out since last Thursdays or was it Wednesday? I forgot already. Well, old age does that to you. The first thing that goes is your memory, then your mind and then you're screwed ... LOL!

As I was saying my car has finally been fixed and it's working just fine (for now at least). Actually it's all really my fault for it deteriorating so badly and always breaking down. I've neglected it for way too long and I guess it was its way of teaching me a mighty expensive lesson.

Well, I've taken heed of its lesson and started to go back to my old ways of taking car of my car. I used to be very fussy with it. I'd wash it almost everyday and dust the carpets out without fail every single time I come home form anywhere. I'd take it for its regular service even before its due date and it has always served me well.

Only in the recent couple of years I started slacking off and surely but slowly it started acting up on me. I should have realized it was crying for help in its own way by the number of times I had to change its car parts almost every month. Well, after the huge chunk of money I gave my deviously smiling from ear to ear mechanic, I'm all the wiser now.

If something acts up, I'll take it and get it fixed right away, not wait until it completely stops functioning. When it's time for servicing, I'll take it right away instead of saying maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe next month. And I'll wash and clean it as much as I possibly can without causing it to rust from all that washing ... LOL! It's time I won back the affection of my car :D

Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto ...

Cruising around in my trusty Rocket ship, I get a beep from Nessa that she's tagged me with this urmmm, What's my Japanese name meme. At first I was skeptical what Spiff was going to sound like in Japanese, but I steeled myself up and decided to give it a try. Afterall if it's lousy, I'll just not do this tag ... hahaha ...

Just kidding though cos the tag is kinda cool and really fun to do, honest, I'm not lying :D I mean you all know how much I 'love' doing tags don't ya? But I found this kinda cool to do. So, after looking through that utterly confusing list of words that would translate my name into Japanese, here is what Spiff means in the land of the rising sun :

Arinokilulu ...

OHMYGOD! What a wuss of a name ... sounds like a cute little Hawaii girls name ... hahaha ... Darn, I was expecting it to be something more manly, oh well ...

So, now I'm going to tag everyone in my blogroll, I know some of you have done this, so feel free to skip it then :) And for those of you who are going to do, make sure you follow the rules below, k?

Instructions :~
  • Add name on the list.
  • Spell out your name using the given Japanese letter.
  • Tag six (6) friends.

1. OSWALD - Moarimeikatate (sounds like america and states. har... har... har ...)

2. CHLOE - Miritamoku (Um... think I still prefer my given name, ha ha)

3. GENG - Jikutoji (Actually, I think it's cute sounding. Arigato gazaimasu!)

4. CONSTANCE - Mimoto arichi katomiku (WOW! Does it sound like an authentic Japanese cuisine? YIKES! I broke it up cos it was quite a mouthful!)

5. DORA - Temoshika (Sounds pretty good huh?! Does it mean beautiful woman?)

6. NESSA - Tokuariarika (macam seterika je... sounds too masculine instead of feminine though)

7. SPIFF - Arinokilulu ... (sounds like something from Lilo & Stitch!)

Crank Calls

There I was snugly curled up in bed early this morning nicely snoozing away and dreaming of those dancing girls on that island I'm going to buy when suddenly my darn cell begins to ring. I groggily wake up, look at my bedside clock and see that it's 4.26 am!

'Good god, who could be calling at this ungodly hour of the morning?'
I scream.

I felt like not picking it up just letting the phone ring but then it could be an important call from a family member or something, you just can't be too sure. But I swear if it was those Zorkian bugs fooling around, I'll go blast their planet in oblivion so help me god!

I pick the phone up and answer it but there is no one on the other end. Darn, it's a crank call. I'm fuming from having to wake up at 4.26 in the morning to answer a crank call! I look at the caller id and it's no one I know or recognize.

Well, whoever it is is going to get hell from me cos by using Reverse Phone Lookups I'm definitely going to be able to identify who the heck is was that was fooling around on the other end of the phone and you are so going to get it from me. I'm going to be able to find out just who you are and put you on my no call list, but not before I give you a chewing out you won't forget for at least 3 lifetimes!

The moral of the story is - Don't mess with the beauty sleep of a spaceman! Oh and just so you know, this is a sponsored post :D

The Davids ...

Well, my prediction that it was going to be a David v David Finals for American Idol came through afterall :) I'm pretty happy, ok ecstatic that David Cook made the finals. For once, I actually had someone I was rooting for make the finals. Normally, the moment I say I'm rooting for someone, I'll jinx them and they end up getting booted out or something ... hehehe ...

I actually missed the performance on Wednesday so I can't really comment too much about this. I could always you tube it but heck, I'm too darn lazy. I'll just take the results as it is and besides I heard that David Cook stole the night anyway.

I'm sure it's going to be an interesting finals and if you ask me to predict the winner, I'd have a hard time doing it cos both of them have some major strengths and some weaknesses as well. But if I was the betting kind, I'd put my money on Archuleta cos of his age and he's practically got all those teenage girls falling all over him. But then DC is no pushover either when it comes the girl department.

All I can say is it's definitely going to be one of the most closely fought finales ever! And I'm going to be glued to my seat in front of my TV for the finale. And if the world was going to end that day, I'd suggest for it to wait till the finals is over or I'm going to be one very pissed spaceman!

Wanna Get Filthy Rich?

I'm sure everyone is interested in making more money right? I know I am. And if you're a blogger, then I'm sure you wouldn't mind being paid for doing something that you already like doing right? I mean, you're blogging and I take it that you enjoy blogging, right? How would you like to get paid as well by doing some blog advertising?

Well, if you're interested then I suggest you hop on the the blog for pay bandwagon right now and get ready to be earning some big bucks! Urmmm, maybe not really big bucks but enough to sustain that crazy online shopping habit you have ... now come on, don't go denying it already. I've seen you countless times in the public online marketplace. You're the one with that big huge neon pink bow, right? LOL!

Anyway, before I get a head of myself, I'm talking about BloggersReview, the new hot money making machine in town. I'm always on the lookout to earn a little extra, what with the cost of things going up and all. I happen to stumble across BloggersReview from Shemah's blog and she spoke wonders about it so who am I to say otherwise? I joined up immediately. It was fuss free and I got my blog approved in 48 hours. Cool isn't it?

And with such and easy to navigate site, it was a breeze for me to use. I may be the high tech spaceman and all, but some sites are just too technical even for me, so I found BloggersReview pretty cool. I'd advise you guys not to wait too long. Go over there right this very minute and sign up now! Well, if you're not interested then don't blame me for not telling you about it when I become a millionaire with this, k? LOL!
.

To Be A kid Again ...

This might sound a little strange and out of place coming from a macho spaceman like me but just the other day I was out with Mrs. Spiff and we were browsing around the baby section looking at kids clothes, kids bedroom furniture and stuff like that. And no, she's not expecting and neither are we planning for anymore kids. Just so you know. The two that we have are a handful already ... LOL!

We just happened to be in that section and was kinda curious to see what the latest development were in baby and kids furniture fashion. And boy, they've come a long way since I was a baby. Of course that was like centuries ago. There's so many cool things that they never did have during my time as a baby ... hahaha, like as if I would have known. Some of the things I saw, I would have never imagined back in those days.

Just walking along the section, we saw loads of very cute and adorable wooden childrens furniture. Some of these were so darn nice, I felt like taking Mrs. Spiff home right away and making a new baby ... hahaha ... There was this nice kids desk that stood out from the rest. It looked like the dashboard of a spaceship and I would have been overjoyed if they had stuff like these when I was a kid.

Back in my time, If I wanted a spaceship desk, I would have had to make one out of cardboard boxes, which I actually did make once .. hehehe ... I took this old cardboard box I found and started drawing all kinds of buttons and dials on it and attached it to my table and started imagining I was this great starship captain. It's no wonder I love space so much ... LOL!

Ahhhh, to be a kid again ...

Master, Do You Need A Card?

It's been a pretty boring day and come 6pm it's going to be a pretty expensive day for me. My car is in the shop again, has been since yesterday and it's going to be ready a little later today. Well, I hope it is anyway seeing as how that's what my mechanic told me when I popped by there a little while ago.

And I basically know it's going to cost me a bomb. And it's good hard money that I could use for so many other things that I've set my eye on. And in case you're wondering what does a spaceman need with a car, well, I can't simply fly around everywhere in my rocket ship now can I? LOL!

You know, the amount of times I've repaired my car since I've got it, I could probably buy a nice mansion somewhere in the tropics with a nice huge swimming pool and a dozen dancing girls to keep me entertained ... LOL!

Mrs. Spiff: 'Just what dozen dancing girls are you referring to, you no good louse? Don't make me come there and smack you now, you hear?'

Urmmm, I was just kidding about the dancing girls, honey ... hehehe ... well, maybe one or two would suffice ... hahaha ... Well, I think you get my drift just how much money I've spent on that car already. And I'm not rich, when things like these happen, especially when it's the middle of the month, I'd have to resort to my trusty old credit card to make it through the month. Not that I haven't been already using it like crazy.

Maybe I should apply for a new credit card and check out the Select Credit Card website. They've got a list of credit cards for me to compare and find the best deal that's suited just for me. Since they've got an extensive online list of banks for me to choose from, it'll be a cinch to find one with that gives me instant approval with good and excellent credit.

At least then, I'd have some emergency funds for times such as these when my car decides to act up. Now, just where did I put that Mastercard application form? I though it was right here just a minute ago?

'Honeyyyyy, did you mess with my things?'

The First Barrage ...

I got this tag from Rozella, that girl with a huge crush on Jason Castro. And because of that crush she has and the fact that I stupidly insulted her beloved Mr. Castro, I am now cursed to eternal tagging by her. And especially now that JC has been eliminated, I think she's going to be pretty free thinking up tags to send my way. LOL!

So, before it piles right up, I'd better start with this real easy and simple one she tagged me a while back. It's so easy I'm not even going to bother with explaining the rules and regulations to you guys. If you really need to know how to do this tag, then by all means head over to Rozella's blog and read the rules there ... hehehe ...

This tag is about something to do with making your Technorati rankings explode from here to Planet Zork and back, increase your Google PR, generate more traffic and simply to make new friends. So here goes. I'm not going to be mean and tag anyone else but if you have some sick weird perversion for doing tags, then by all means consider yourself tagged, you sicko you ... LOL! At least now I can go back to looking for some new toys for myself, urrrmmm, I mean my kids ... hehehe ...

Being Healthy Is Expensive!

You know, you'd think that going on a diet would reduce your food expenses considerably. Seeing as how you'd be eating much lesser food and all that. But it's actually been the exact opposite! I've been on my diet for exactly two whole weeks (yes, that's 14 days straight without rice that I'm beginning to wonder what rice tastes like) and I thought that my grocery bills would go down slightly.

But, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's actually gone up a little. Strange but true. Diet food can be expensive. Mrs. Spiff and me have been eating stuff like salads, home made shredded chicken sandwiches, soups and loads of greens and we've ended up paying more for our food. It's probably cos we now buy a lot more organically grown veggies such as butterhead, romaine and coral lettuce (to name a few), cherry tomatoes, purple cabbage, baby potatoes, chicken fillet (to steam or boil them) and the usual salad dressing such as mayo, thousand island, blue cheese salad dressing (this one I love like crazy) and a few other things.

Doesn't sound like much, does it? Well, we now buy our veggies almost every two days and the dressing doesn't last a week and in the long run it actually costs us more than the regular groceries we used to buy. Who'd have thought eating like a cow was going to be expensive ... LOL! And all in the name of being healthy and looking good. Such vain people we are ... hehehe ...

But I'm really enjoying this new healthy lifestyle I'm living with the only exception of when it comes to times we eat out. We can hardly find stuff, healthy stuff that is, for us to eat. We used to be able to eat just about anywhere but are now very much more picky about the stuff we consume and there are not many places that serve healthy food in KL. If anyone knows of any, I'd be grateful if you could tell me :D Oh and does anyone know where I can get a cheap and decent wine refrigerator?

The End Of The Road ...

I had a blast watching American Idol last night cos it was rock and roll night and I like rock and roll. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm old, but hey, who cares ... old is gold they say ... LOL! Well, they did sing a few of my favourites and I thought all of them did pretty well with the exception of Jason Castro (and I know I'm going to be bombarded with tags because of this ... LOL!).

I was rooting for the guy to do well, honestly I was. I thought he brought something a little different to the show with his charm and his rasta style locks but alas, he was a disappointment. He just couldn't pick up his game any longer. It was at that stage of the competition that everyone had to bring out their best but sadly he didn't cut. I'm a fan of Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man and I really thought he could pull it off, but I was sadly mistaken.

Oh well, someone had to go and he was the worse of the lot. To be fair, David Cook didn't do all that good either. You all know I'm a David Cook fan and I expected so much more from him. He didn't do anything with Duran Duran except do an impersonation of Duran Duran! The best of the night easily went to the young David and Syesha. In fact, I thought Syesha was the most improved of the lot! She deserves to be there.

They're going to have Bo Bice perform tonight and I'm not going to miss it for the world. I was rooting for Bo during his time and I'm looking forward to his performance tonight :) That would mean I have to start making my homemade chicken sandwich that I'm planning to have for dinner tonight a little earlier. Ever since I threw away my diet pills, I've been happily eating that all week ... hehehe ...

The Monsters That Live Among Us ...

The day was moving along pretty fine. My work load in the office was pretty light. Most of my urgent work was completed and I even took the second half of the day off from work to go on a date with Mrs. Spiff (well, not really la, we have some personal matters to attend to) and still had a few hours to kill before it was time for me to head home.

I decided to blog hop and came across The Obnoxious 5xmom's blog. And what I read in her latest post shocked me into utter disbelieve! Her post was a warning about this very and I mean VERY sick person. I'm too much in rage to explain about it further. I extracted the paragraph below from her blog. Apparently this guy is a local and that IP address you see there is a fixed streamyx IP.

There is a blogger PEDOPHILE among us and he lurks in blogs. He comments under the nick ALBERT 51 and this is his IP Address: 219.95.3.179. Go see his blog on albertxuling2007.blogspot.com and you will definitely be SICK!

I was curious and went to the said blog and what I saw there sickened me to the very bone! It's cos of people like these that we have to restrict our children's freedom to enjoy the outdoors. It's cos of people like these that we have to live in fear of bad things happening to our children while we're not around to protect them!

I implore upon the proper authorities to haul this sick animal in and lock him up behind bars. I read some of the perverted things he wrote on his blog about what he wants to do to little girls. I felt like puking! He says it's just his fantasies but I think if given the chance, he would fulfill his sick and perverted fantasy.

Please, please, please Mr. Policeman, go arrest the animal, no wait, animals don't do stuff like this, go arrest this monster before he actually goes out and fulfills his perverted fantasies!!!

I'm not a normally a very serious person but I can't help the rage I feel today! I have half a mind to get in my rocketship, hunt this monster down and shove my ray gun up a certain place in his anatomy, somewhere where the sun doesn't shine and blast him to Planet Zork and back, but I fear he may just enjoy it!

So please, if you can, spread the word about this to everyone you know, especially parents with little girls. Now let me go cool for a bit ...

A Spaceman And His Awards!

It has been a wonderful day so far. Well, any day that isn't a Monday is definitely a wonderful day :D And what's made it even better is while I was cruising around the galaxy. Yeah, I know I cruise around the galaxy quite a bit, but hey, I am a spaceman, right? What's a spaceman to do in his free time if not cruise around the galaxy?

Anyways, there I was just off the 6th planet from Zork, I see this floating billboard with a message for me. Hmmm, now what could that be all about? I put aside the reading I was doing on Azlio, inch my rocket ship nearer and the message starts to flash in morse code. Darn, I don't know morse code and besides who uses morse code anymore? What is this? The dark ages? Left with no choice, I get my trusty super duper onboard computer to to decipher the code for me.

After what seems like an eternity, I guess my super duper computer wasn't so super duper afterall, I finally get the code cracked. Must remember to track down that sleazy Zorkian bug who sold me the supposedly super duper computer in the first place. Back to the message. I glance through it and discover it's Syura telling me she has some awards for me! Woohoo, that's way cool but couldn't she have just emailed me instead of sending it out via Space Messaging Service (sms - pun intended ... LOL) and using morse code to boot!

But I'm honoured to receive these four awards from her, well of course that Nick fellow got a whole lot more but who's counting! Anyway, thanks a bunch Syura. Now if only I could sneak all these awards home without Hobbes getting his grubby paws on them. And no, I'm not awarding them to anyone else either. I'm stingy with my awards ... LOL!

Greed Can Be a Bad Thing!

While I was cruising around the galaxy like I do every Monday to bleed off some stress I spy a little light blinking on my gleaming rocket ship's dashboard. Now, what in heavens name could that be? Putting down the ray gun that I was polishing a while earlier, I hesitantly get off my command chair to find out just what Monday is bringing upon me now.

Looking closer at the panel of the blinking light, I notice that it's actually a homing beacon. Ok, just what is it homing on now? Some loot? Hmmm, who knows. That's what it's programmed to do anyway. Gleefully I chuck my ray gun aside and guide my ship towards the beacon. It takes a few minutes but I eventually arrive at the location.

Once there, I see this gleaming silver disk floating in space. Maybe it's a location map or something. using my super duper tractor beam, I grab the disk and insert it into the terminal on my dashboard and what greets me is definitely no treasure map! It's a message from Nessa, telling me I've just be tagged! Darn it! I should have just left that disk floating in space ... LOL!

Now, wasn't that mighty smart of her, suckering me in like that. Everyone just knows how utterly inquisitive and greedy this spaceman can be sometimes. Oh well, now that I've been tagged I might as well do it right away since I have nothing better to do at the moment besides polishing my ray gun. This tag is called the Eight Random Facts meme . Why stop at only 8? Why not 16? Or better yet, 32? LOL! Ok, I'd better keep my big mouth shut before someone actually tags me with a 32 random fact meme!

First and foremost, here are the usual rules. Each of you start with 8 random facts or habits about yourself. Once you're tagged, write a blog post about your own random fact and post these rules. At the end of the post you need to tag at least 64 people ... urrmmm ... just kidding, 8 other suckers ... ahhhhhh ... that would be 8 other wonderful bloggers and include their names. Then once you're done, don't forget to let them know in their blogs that you've thoroughly ruined their entire week by giving them a tag ... LOL! Oh, it's also to tell them to come read your random facts.

Now, without anymore wise cracks, here are the 8 random facts of a slightly crazy spaceman:

1. I love superhero comic books.
2. I love wearing tee shirts to just about everywhere.
3. I'm fascinated by gadgets of every kind.
4. I'm a huge Star Trek fan.
5. I thoroughly dislike incompetent people (unfortunately I happen to know a few too many!).
6. I'm a cleanliness freak.
7. I hate crowds!
8. I work best under pressure (which is a nice way of saying I'm a lazy bum ... LOL!).

And now comes the part I love the most. Spreading this meme to 8 other victims out there ... Let me see who pissed me off in the past week ... LOL! Just kidding, ok! And the lucky eight are:

Shemah of My Sweet Escape
Rozella of Asian Mutt International
Haizum of Serious Scribbles & Silly Sayings
Ethel of Once Upon A Time
Aunty J of Good Things In Life
Adrian of First Time Dad (how could I let you off, buddy ... LOL)
Marzie of Mariuca's Perfume Gallery
Osindak of This Is My Life
.

Dreams Are Made of These ...

I need a new rocket ship! One of those new fancy schmancy high tech wonders that I've seen in Rocket's 'R' Us. A nice bright neon green one! Now that would be cool. I'd be the envy of every Zorkian from here to Venus. But then, a brand new one cost loads of money, something that I don't have much of. And my days of plundering and pillaging the galaxy are over, just in case you're wondering.

In fact, it's not just my rocket ship that needs changing. Even my car needs changing. I've been driving my current car like forever now. I mean it's a pretty decent car. It has served me well, though it does act up every now and then and make my life totally miserable but it's been good to me. But I need something new as well (don't worry car, I ain't gonna sell you, you'll be my second car, well, right after my rocket ship, that is ... LOL). But then, the cars that I have my eye set on are way beyond my reach.

Yes, I have very fancy and expensive taste when it comes to cars. I have this dream of one day driving a nice BMW 3 series limited sports edition, a nice sleek silver one. The first time I laid my eyes on it at the showroom I was salivating all over the floor that they actually had to call the cleaner to mop up the mess ... LOL! Well, that was back when that car was in season. Now, I've got my eyes set on a Mitsubishi Lancer evolution X and I started salivating again the moment I saw images of the car. I had to get a new keyboard after that, mind you ... LOL!

But then, the prices of cars that I really want are way beyond what I'm capable of possessing. I'd probably have to work 3 lifetimes to even afford just the emblem ... siggghhh ... I guess for now, it's just going to have to be the used cars section until I can win the lottery or something!

Better Late Than Never ...

I know I'm a little late in posting this cos just about everyone and everybody has already had their fill of posting about American Idol but I don't care, I'm still going to post about it anyway ... hahaha ...

I'm not going to talk about the contestants in general. Though I don't fancy Brooke all that much and I thought the results were a little unfair but hey, it's a popularity contest people! The more popular you are and with a big fan base, it doesn't matter if you're good or not, you know you won't be the one booted out.

Instead, I'm going to rant on a little bit about Paula Abdul! Now, I've always not liked her at all. Even when she was singing back in those days I thought she was just mediocre. And yesterday or was it Wednesday, she justified my dislike of her even more.

It was live TV, well for the Americans anyway, and just what in heavens name was she on about with her comments? It really strengthens my believe that she's always had a little too much to drink before the show! I loved the look on Ryan's face when she started mouthing of about Jason's supposedly second performance. I didn't know she was psychic ... hahaha ...

Poor old Ryan Seacrest looked totally ashen and was practically pleading with his face for someone to stop her babbling and thank god for Simon who did managed to change the subject altogether or Paula would have probably carried on about everyone else's second performance ... LOL!

I hope they kicked her out of the show cos she just brought the reputation of that show down ten notches. But she did provide some comic if not entirely stupid relief from an otherwise lackluster performance, well, with the exception of David Cook that is. But then when it comes to him, I'm just way biased ... hahaha ...

Oh and seeing how I'm actually on diet right now, I get assignments regarding diet pills such as this top diet pills assignment I just got today. Is that like magic or what ... LOL!
