The weather was simply too beautiful to be spent cooped up indoors that's why wifey and me decided to head to the lake gardens (called Taman Jaya). The moment we reached the park, the kids ran out of the car and headed for the playground section leaving me and wifey to explore the park. I've been to this particular park many times before, I even used to run here with that louse the Genie King a few years back but the park has changed so much that I hardly recognize it. And don't get me wrong, it's changed for the better.
They really spruced up the place, put up some new hangout sections where you can just sit back and relax. New flowers, trees, etc, etc ... There was even a museum there but it was closed cos of the public holiday here. I really don't know what kind of museum it was but I'm surprised that it's even there cos I never noticed it all those years ago. Must be one of the new additions to the lake.
So, with the kids playing on the swings, slides and whatnots, wifey and me went around the park looking at the trees and flowers around the park. This park holds some special memories for wifey and me :) There were so many weird kinds of trees and plants here that we had a hard time figuring out what they were. Wifey liked one of the flowers found here that she wanted to pluck some of them and plant at home but I stopped her cos it was illegal to pluck anything from the park (didn't want to spend my holiday in jail now do I? LOL!) so she settled for taking a pix of it ...
Wifey also pointed out to this couple with their kids a few feet away from us who were collecting something form the ground. Me, being a busy body went to see what it was and discovered they were picking out this tiny red seeds (not sure what's it called) that had fallen from the trees. I got pretty excited when I saw it cos when I was a little boy, we had this tree in our yard and we'd collect the seeds when it fell, which was normally a alot, get mom to stitch 5 small pouches, fill it with the seeds and play this game called 5 stones, I think it's called Batu Seremban in malay. Much to the amusement of my wife, I joined that couple with their kids and started collecting the seeds for myself ... hehehe ... I collected quite a bit I must say :)
After about an hour here, we got the kids who were by this time enjoying themselves thoroughly on the swings and slides and whatever else they could climb on, and headed for home. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I know I sure did :)

Um, you look surprisingly HUMAN for a spaceman!
I recognized wifey's favorite flower, there called Lantana, they attract a lot of bees and are very fragrant.
Pretty park on your planet Spiff.
MP, urmmm, had to send the space suit for dry cleaning, was getting a bit stale ... LOL!
Thanx for the info on the Lantana flower, peculiar sounding name though. Wife send her thanx :)
I so love that vertical tree and tiny pink flowers:) That red seed pod looks like petai... is it edible??
Aren't those red seeds called biji saga? Coz I remember we have those back in my old school too.. and I know a kid put those biji saga into his nose and totally forgotten about it. Heard the seed actually GROW inside his nose, he had to go for operation. O.O
By the way... wah.. what a pretty park. But how come I only see plants, plants and more plants but LESS human figure? :P
what a nice place. I love being around plants and flowers
Sweetiepie, I loved those vertical trees too (but aren't all trees vertical? LOL) They were so straight and even the branches were so uniformingly formed :) I don't think the seeds can be eaten but I've collected quite a few, if you wanna try I can give you some ... LOL!
Cindy, yeah, they're called biji saga, I just wasn't sure though. Thanx for the update :D
You mean those seeds seriously grew in his nose? Arggghhhh, that would have been pretty awful but funny to see ... LOL!
Urmmm, the plants more interesting to shoot than the human figures la ... hehehe ...
OMG! They still have those saga seeds there????? I MUST go find that tree - where? where? I thought saga seeds were extinct! I used to collect them as a kid, for five stones and all sorts of adventures. My daughter would LOVE them, I NEED to find them.
And before I forget, you're good. And my husband dresses like you LOL. And we have the Eurasian family Xmas dinner too, so drama...
Big Pumpkin, the tree is just by the playground in Taman Jaya (if you're from PJ, you'd know where that is) and I thot they were extinct too ... LOL!
Urmmm, glad to know I'm not the only who dresses that way ... LOL! Yeah, those Eurasian dinners are full of drama, that's for sure! Thanx for dropping by.
