Tonight's The Night!

The Olympics is here and I know I'm going to be glued to the TV for the opening ceremony tonight. In fact with the amount of special channels dedicated to it on Astro (our satellite TV station) I'm probably going to have a blast channel surfing. Maybe they should make that an Olympic sport ... LOL!

What I'm really looking forward is to see the s Water Cube aquatic centre in full glory for the opening night. I've been fascinated by the Water Cube the moment I laid my eyes on it on TV quite sometime back. It's an incredible piece of engineering and my hats of to the creative people who came up with that idea :D

The opening ceremony is probably going to one to be remembered for a long time, well, at least until the next installment of the games that is. I'm sure the people of China have worked real hard preparing for the games and they've probably got something spectacular planned for the opening tonight.

I've already got my snacks all ready for tonight ... hehehe ... Went over to the mini market near our place with Mrs. Spiff this afternoon after lunch to stock up on a few things for tonight. And I'm going to make sure all my things are done before 8pm tonight so nothing will bug me during the opening ceremony.

And after that, I'm looking forward to a few events like athletics (but of course), football, gymnastics, well practically all the events la ... hehehe ... I mean, it's the Olympics for goodness sakes, how can I not like it? It's only a pity they don't have squash as one of the events cos I'm sure Nicol David would kick everyones butts :D That girl is something else altogether.

Anyways, here's looking to a wonderful Beijing Olympics with nothing bad happening. May the best sport person win. And to the Malaysian contingent, make us proud! Malaysia Boleh! Ok, ok, that sounded corny, I know ... hehehe ...

Carol - Good to see you here :D I made sure all my work was completed before the opening ceremony and even then I tuned in 10 minutes late ... darn!

I was actually expecting something more spectacular for the lighting of the torch but I thought in the end it was pretty cool too :D
