KITT Is Back ...
How many of you remember that black sleek car driven by this guy called Michael Knight from way back in the 80's? The series was titled, Knight Rider. You do remember? Well then you must be as old as I am ... LOL!
Well, they have the latest incarnation of that show over here and I caught the pilot episode on TV tonight. I must say I came away pretty impressed with it. They were showing the sneak peek trailers on TV for the past two weeks and I was pretty skeptical that it would be a decent show.
I mean, a sleek black talking car called KITT was so yesterday and now they have a newer version of it. How good can it really be? The demand for talking talking cars are not all that great these days ... hehehe ... They had the pilot episode on tonight and Mrs. Spiff wanted to just check it out to see if it was good or not.
There I was telling her it would probably turn out to be lousy. Remakes mostly don't fare as good as the originals did. Take Bionic Woman as an example. I seriously dislike that show from the bottom of my pancreas! I can't relate to anyone being Jamie Sommers except Lindsay Wagner and the new Bionic Woman just didn't cut it for me. I watch all of one episode and gave it up.
But surprisingly, the new incarnation of Knight Rider was pretty decent. I actually sat through the whole one and a half hour pilot and told Mrs. Spiff that I'll even be watching next weeks episode :D It wasn't the best remake, in fact it wasn't really a remake per se. It was more of Michael Knights (the original Knight Rider for those who don't know) son taking over the reins of the new Knight Industries Three Thousand (or KITT as if you all didn't know that) and being the new hero for the show.
The car definitely looks much better than the old KITT and sports a host of fancy gadgets from the usual bullet proofing to super high tech body repairing technology right up to even having an electric blanket! Ok, it didn't really have electric blankets installed but wouldn't it be cool if it did? Imagine, you could snuggle up in the drivers seat all cozy while that talking car just drove you around ... LOL!
I watched this series back in August 2008, when it was aired in the States. I must admit, I cannot tahan lah. I watched the 1st episode only. Hahahahha! But quite cool also lah the pilot. Ada David Hasselhoff! :P
ReplyDeleteit was black out at our place while watching this last night :(
ReplyDeleteEthel - I was waiting for the part when good old David Hasselhoff was going to appear ... LOL! I used to be crazy over this show when it first came out way back in the 80's ...
ReplyDeleteCarol - Adui, what a time for a black out. Takpe, next week still got ... hehehe ...
