I know this is old news and by now the whole world knows that Kris Allen won American Idol. Not really a worthy winner cos Adam has heaps and bounds more talent than Kris will have in his entire lifetime. At least he won't be having to sing that atrocious No Boundaries song. I think I could have come up with a much better song and I'm a tiger even.
I was actually not looking forward to the results show cos some idiot in my office decided to blurt out who the winner was and that ruined my whole day. I made it a point to stay away from any source of information so I wouldn't know who the winner was but then there really is no staying away from big mouths!
So, there I was sulking away while watching the show but 10 minutes into it, I was on my feet, hyperventilating and dancing away cos the array of guest artistes was simply outstanding!
From Cyndi Lauper, Lionle Ritchie, Queen, Carlos Santana, which had me miming away on my invisible guitar (I bet you didn't know us tigers can play the guitar) to the crooning of Rod Stewart, one of my all time greats! And finally KISS with their trademark guitar breaking and tongue out performance.
By the time it was all over, I didn't care that Kris Allen had won, I just enjoyed the show. It brought me back to my youth when I was a little tiger cub and Spiff was a tiny little tot of a spaceboy. I thought that was one of the best ever American Idol cast of invited artistes.
I couldn't get enough of it that after the show, I logged on and Youtubed more of their songs (it was Emila's suggestion btw) and then Nessa, Anny, Emila and me had a nice rocking party at her blog till the wee hours of the morning ... LOL!
Emila with her Yngwie Malmsteen rocking in the background, me with Carlos Santana jamming away, Nessa shaking her booties between us and Kakak Anny selling pretzels ... LOL! The only thing we didn't have was a stall giving away free compact flash cards ... hehehe ... What a party we had. So much so that I ended up having a hard time waking up the next day!
I wonder if the party is still going on at Kak Anggur's blog? Maybe I'll go have a peek ...
It is a great show.. the best yet.. and allllll my favourite artiste.. hehehhe.. and Emi's party was great.. too bad no satay.. hahaha
ReplyDeleteAdam need not win this show.. cos he is already a winner and he'll go very far.. his voice is amazing... with the right height and superstar looks.. he dun need to win.. he is already the winner!

ReplyDeletehabe a great weekend Hobbes.. and Mrs Spiff :D err.. u better go check on the Spiff.. he reaaaaaaallly would be smelling too eggy by now :D
ReplyDeleteI didn't quite enjoy the show though...esp the awards giving ceremony. I find it so cheesy..ala Oscar and what not.
ReplyDeleteI think the votes that previously went to Gokey swayed over to Kris.
The No Boundaries song was written by Kara right? I didn't like it too.
Anny - Oh ya la, I didn't realize we didn't have satay la ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnny - Oh yes he is. I wasn't rooting for Adam. I was rooting for Allison but I'd say Adam is way better than Kris anytime. And he'll go further than Kris, you mark my words :D
ReplyDeleteAnny - Sure, sure, my place always can party. Urmmm, who's going to be in charge of decorations? I know, we get Nessa, since she's good with paper cuttings, Emila can do the invitation cards and you can provide the pretzels ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnny - A great weekend to you. I'm sure Spiff is lazing around in as a yolk, trust me, I know that lazy bum ... hehehe ...
ReplyDeleteMei Teng - I have to agree with you about the Oscar part, that was cheesy alright but I enjoyed all the guest performances so much that it left me yearning for more!
ReplyDeleteYes, Kara and two others too. It was atrocious!
i was rooting for Adam but too bad he didn't win.:( I know, all the Lambert fans are crushed and in pain, but Adam will still be out there making records, creating new songs, being in the limelight.
ReplyDeleteDavid Cook's song was so emotional though, what he must be going through right now is awful :(
the winning song is not my cup of tea too. :(
but overall, i enjoyed the show, it was a blast.

Emila - Hi Emila, good to see you here :D
ReplyDeleteEmila - LOL! Yeah, Anny is now known as Kakak Anny, the pretzel seller :D
ReplyDeleteEmila - Yeah, that was one awesome party and those clogs were a riot too ... hehehe ...
ReplyDeleteEmila - Alamak, I tido awal la Emila. Getting old, party one day and must take a rest for three days ... LOL! Wah, Motley Crue, I must go Youtube it now ... hehehe ...
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Emila's party was a blast :D My neck still hurts la.. took much head banging... LOL!
ReplyDeletehhehehee.. we r wayyyyyyyyy too old for headbanging.. we'll just have a huge headache after the headbanging thingy :D
ReplyDeleteNessa - Hahaha ... I think if I did any head banging I'll probably end up in the hospital la ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Emila going to have another one soon :D
Anny - I have to agree with you on this one ... hehehe ...
ReplyDeleteagreed! I wish Adam won.. but it doesn't matter. a true artist will eventually shine in the music industry no matter what... we will see.
ReplyDeleteMissy E - Yup, Adam is slated for much bigger things and thank god he doesn't have to sing that awful 'No Boundaries' song
