A Part Time Traitor ...

I don't really put up sports news in this blog. Not that I'm not a sports fan, mind you. I am a huge sports fan, in fact I even love to run and have taken part in half marathons and all that stuff. I even took up martial arts at one time.

The reason I don't really post sports here is cos half the time, the bloody teams I support are always on the losing end. And I support some pretty heavy and great teams. When it comes to F1, it's McLaren or nothing. I've been supporting them ever since I could say McDonald's ... LOL! And the same goes for football or soccer as some of you would call it. My favourite is Arsenal.

And they're one of the best if not greatest team in the world. But sometimes it's so disappointing supporting them and to see them stumble at the final few obstacles and have their chance at success taken away from them. But then, I am a die hard and extremely loyal Arsenal fan. I've been with them since the age of 6 years old (and that is a long time, trust me) and even though they play really bad at times, I can't imagine myself supporting any other other team.

But yesterday, I found myself supporting and rooting for one of my favourite love to hate teams and willing them to win. And that team was none other than Manchester United! LOL! Now before you go accusing me of being some kind of two timing traitor or anything, let me tell you why I was supporting them at all.

You see, if MU won last night, which they didn't (those fools!), that would have put Arsenal firmly at the top of the English Premier league with a comfortable three point lead. But if the team they were playing, which I hate even more than I hate MU won, then Arsenal would drop back to second. Now you see why I was rooting for MU, besides by their current form, MU is not a threat to Arsenal just yet.

But unfortunately, even though they led almost throughout the game, they somehow let those dogs Chelsea claw back into the game and snatch a draw. That was still a good result for Arsenal cos they still remain at the top of the table, but with only a one point lead ... siggghhh ...

Mrs. Spiff was pretty amused though with the enthusiasm I was showing for MU last night. She's a die hard MU supporter and we've had numerous friendly arguments about which is the better team but for once last night, there was solidarity in terms of football in the Spiff's residence ... LOL!

But honey, now that MU has served it purpose, they're back on my list if hate teams and if they don't come up from that bottom half of the English Premier League table for the whole of this season, that's fine with me ... hahaha ...

Okay, that's a fair reason to root for MU. I'm an Arsenal fan, too.

Channah - First of all, welcome to my blog :D It's always nice to have a fellow Arsenal fan drop by.

Well, I wished they had beat Chelsea but at least the draw still went in Arsenal's favour :D

Just a short note... 'He who laughs last, laughs best!' :D

Nessa - That's what I'm worried about. Arsenal has this habit of always stumbling at the final stretch ...
