Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire ...

A young businessman had just started his own firm. He had just rented a beautiful office and had it furnished with antiques.

He saw a man come into the outer office. Wishing to appear the hot shot, the businessman picked up the phone and started to pretend he had a big deal working. He threw huge figures around and made giant commitments.

Finally he hung up and asked the visitor, "Can I help you?"

"Yeah, I've come to activate your phone lines."

Have you ever experienced something like that joke before? Well, I have. It didn't happen to me. There was this time I was sitting and waiting in the lobby in one of my clients place. I was there early for an appointment and there were a few others there waiting to see someone or other too.

In walks this cocky looking guy, I'll call him Mr. Ahole, heads to the reception and in a rude way says he's there to see Mr. Manager, one of the managers of the company. The receptionist tells him to have a seat cos Mr. Manager is in a meeting. This guys gets all riled up and loudly says, I'm a very busy man and I've got loads of deals to settle. Can you buzz him and say I'm here.

The receptionist politely tells him she can't interrupt the meeting which sets him off. He says to her in a loud voice. I know your managing director and I'm going to call him now and tell him about the rude service I'm getting here. So he proceeds to whip out his mobile phone, start dialing and began to start talking to the managing director.

Everyone is looking at him as he loudly speaks into his mobile phone, when all of a sudden, the darn phone actually rings! He is stunned and turns totally red in the face at being caught in the act of talking to no one! Everyone in the lobby burst out in a hysterical fit of laughter so much so that I can't even breathe properly from all that laughing.

Mr. Ahole, with a face that now resembles the red of Santa's costume hurriedly walks out of the office to the sounds of laughter in the background.

Moral of the story? If you're going to act like a big shot, at least set your phone to silent before pretending to speak to no one! LOL!
