Looking For A Life Partner?

Are you lonely or anything? I mean, like are you looking for a life partner? Maybe a companion or something. Someone to while away the hours and grow old with? No? Yes? Well, if you are, then I've got just the right someone for you.

He's 6 feet tall (that's 183 centimeters in case you didn't know), 36 years old, tall, dark-haired and pretty good natured. And he goes by the name of Polo. Oh ya, I forgot to mention, he's a gorilla ... hehehe ... And right now, the poor fellow is one lonely gorilla seeing as how he's been single for the past eight years.

Not that he has been looking mind you. He has but the search has been fruitless. Polo, who was sent to Mysore, a city in southern India from the Dublin Zoo way back in 1995 has been all alone since his mate, Sumanthi passed away all those years ago.

And it's not like they haven't been trying to find a partner for poor old Polo. Vijay Ranjan Singh, the director of the Mysore Zoo has written to major zoos around the world seeking for a partner for Polo but with little success.

Seeing as how gorillas are considered endangered, most of the other zoos are pretty reluctant to part with theirs and since Polo is India's only gorilla, they don't want to send him abroad to look for friends as animal transfers are usually done within the framework of breeding programs that are often regional.

Now they're worried that the failure to find a mate for Polo could just cause him psychological harm and are making a final plea to find a partner for Polo. According to Vijay Ranjan Singh:

'Polo is not very happy. The few joys he enjoys are bathing and searching for food that his keeper hides in blocks of ice or in bamboo to keep him energized.'

For the prospective mate - Vijay Ranjan Singh says Polo is good-natured and responds to commands in both the local Kannada language and English. So, if any of you out there are interested in Polo, make sure you brush up on your local Kannada language and speak immaculate English ... LOL!

Okay Nick I admit it I didn't read the post.

But judging by the title and the picture I am glad that I am already married.

Not that I have anything against Gorillas or anything...but, he's just not my type.

Thanks Nick for running my add.

Happy day or night or whenever you want to be happy okay?:-)

sg has the famous Ah Meng the Orang Utan who passed on recently and was given a proper burial and ceremony with thousands that thronged the zoo to see him off, sobbing.
