#$!%^%##%@

How many times have I said I just absolutely positively hate Mondays? Well, countless times I think and I'm going to say it again. I hate Mondays!!! I guess with that you could say I'm not having a good day (you think?). Well, I'm not. I'm in a relatively foul mood for personal reasons concerning work and I think I'm going to be in this foul mood all day.

Right now I'm just waiting for work to finish so I can get home and put on my running shoes and run this bad mood away. The only thing is, the time isn't moving fast enough. The weekend came and went away so fast that I hardly got a chance to even enjoy it. All I know is I woke up and it was Monday already! I can't even really remember what I did all weekend, well except maybe watch the Heroes Marathon screening on TV yesterday. I kind missed the last 3 episodes so Mrs. Spiff and me decided to watch the Marathon session to catch up just before the urrmmm, what did they call it? The chapter finale tomorrow.

I even gave James Bond's Casino Royale a miss. I'm a James bond fan, have been since I was a kid and I've seen every single James Bond movie at least a minimum of 3 times except for Casino Royale. I decided to be a stingy little spaceman and wait for them to screen it on TV instead of catching it at the movies :D But it so happened that it clashed with Heroes and I'm also a big huge Heroes fan so I gave James Bond a miss (*gasp*). I'm sure it will be screened as a re-run again pretty soon. After all, that's what Astro is known for, screening nothing but re-runs after re-runs!

Ok, I think I'd better quit blogging already (for today at least!) cos my mood isn't really improving and all this complaining is just making me boil even more. Maybe I should just hop on my rocket ship and go check out those Branson lots that I've heard about. Not really sure how that is going to help my mood, but it's a start. Hope Monday is treating you guys way better than me. Till then, have a great week ahead.

Even Spacemen Have Chores ...

You know even us spacemen are not spared from household chores. I only just finished up helping out Mrs. Spiff with the household cum weekly major cleaning chores and I'm beat already! I must be way older than I thought I was! And it's not even like we did have to clean up all that much. We keep the place pretty clean and the only place that really needs a little bit more attention with the cleaning up is the kitchen.

As mentioned in one of my post in that Nick fellows blog, my mom doesn't really clean up the kitchen all that well and both Mrs. Spiff and me can't stand the kitchen being dirty and oily that we pay a little bit more attention to the kitchen. I for one feel icky having to walk or rather slide on a floor that's literary coated with oil from not being mopped up properly! Mu mom really has a habit of doing that. And being my mom, both me and Mrs. Spiff don't really say anything much to her about it and just clean up after her! Siiiiggghhhh ...

Anyway, since my work is done for now I thought I'd hijack the computer for a while before Mrs. Spiff gets her hands on it ... hehehe ... she's still downstairs reading the newspaper while waiting for the final batch of laundry to be washed. We only have 2 kids plus the two of us, but the laundry load for one days usage looks like there's a family of 10 staying here that wifey has to go through 3 washing cycles! Gosh, I'm trying to figure out just how many clothes we use in one day. Well, at least the sun's blistering hot so the laundry should be dry in no time.

In fact the sun has been blistering hot the past 3 days that I was practically melting. Even the air conditioning in my car was struggling to keep me cool when going for my appointments. The moment I stepped out the office from the cool comforts of the air conditioning, I started sweating immediately and I sweat very easily. It was so hot I even canceled my run. I do hope it will at least rain a little today but judging from the weather, so such luck is in store. Maybe I'll just have to do my naked rain dance in the yard once again ... LOL!

Ok, that's about all from me for now. I'm going to log off and head to my rocket ship and blast off to some nice cool planet for a bit of afternoon snoozing ... LOL! Till then, you guys have a great weekend.

A Free Day, At Least For Now Anyway ...

I finally get a day to rest in the office. Not much work today. Most of my stuff is basically done. So far it looks like a nice free day in the office which can be quite boring in its own way. I could always surf and blog hop, but that wouldn't take all day. I could always do some assignments but ever since the almighty big G docked my blog to a PR0, the assignments have dried up a little. Not as much as they used to be.

I specifically created this blog for making a little money with it and up until a few weeks ago, it was doing just fine with a PR of 3. Oh well, as Mrs. Spiff always says:

'You win some and you lose some, honey.'

But the strange thing is, my other blog has moved up from a PR0 to a PR2, which baffles me. Initially it was a PR4 blog, then the powers that be of the internet came down on me real hard and gave me a nice big fat juicy zero and it has been that way for ages until a few weeks ago when I checked and found out it's back to PR2. Not that I'm complaining mind you. I'm just perplexed. I wonder how they actually define this PR nonsense. Not that I'm too bothered about it cos I do still get my assignment just not all that much as before.

In fact, I'm getting a lot more assignments for my other blog which really troubles me a little cos I wanted to keep that blog as personal as much as I can but hey, I don't turn away good money ... LOL! I've got a bunch of assignments waiting to be done over there that I've run out of things to post. The postings I do over there are all very personal and some of the keywords are so weird that I just don't know how to fit them into a personal post! And to make things even worse, the deadlines are just around the corner. But I always work best at the last minute so that shouldn't pose too much of a headache :D

But that leaves me with this blog. Like I said it started out as a zany blog with the intention of making me filthy rich ... muahahaha ... well, ok, maybe not filthy but at least obscenely rich but with the dried up assignments, I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon ... LOL! Looks like I'm going to be posting a little more personal stuff here, especially about my voyages and adventures on planet Zork :D And don't worry folks, I ain't gonna be as long winded as that Nick fellow! Man, he sure has a big mouth! LOL!

And with that I leave you all to ponder upon this question:

If Buzz Lightyear doesn't know he's a toy, why does he stop talking when humans are around?

As Easy As A,B,C ...

This has got to be one of the easiest tags to do. In fact it is so easy that I don't think I'd even need to use my super duper trusty high tech computer system to do it. Thank you Syura for giving me such easy tag to do. This one would take me less that 2 minutes to do and would leave me loads of time to check out some air purifiers for my office as it's getting a little stale in here.

So here goes the worlds most easiest tag :D

Now wasn't that just a breeze to do? Well, as with all these tags someone has to get tagged as well. And since it's easy I'm tagging Adrian , Diamond , Marzie and Jen so don't complain and get it done or you'll all feel the wrath of my ray gun! Muahahaha ...

The Environmentalist!

Shemah of My Sweet Escape tagged me with this International Earth Day tag a few days back. This is the first time I'm hearing about an International Earth Day and even then, the actual day has passed already so I'm pretty late with this tag. Hey, don't look at me like that. I'm not even from Earth, so how would I know when your International Earth Day is? I mean, if you ask me about the Zorkian Inter-Galactic Swimsuit day, now that I would know. But then, do you really want to see a Zorkian in a swimsuit?

But just because I'm not of this planet, that doesn't mean I don't care about your little blue marble. To boost interstellar relations between our species, I shall help spread the word and see what I can do for your mother nature. Beside. this tag is pretty simple and all you need to do is include the pictures below in your blog and link it back to the original homepage and then go and annoy, urrrmmm, I mean tag as many people as you like to help spread the message wider and further :)

Picture Number 1:

Just CLICK away. No donations needed at all. But if you feel the need to donate to anything you can always hit my paypal button on the top right hand of my blog and donate to my DSLR fund and I promise to repay your faith by atleast taking some pictures of nature for you ... hehehe ...

Picture Number 2:

Answer4Earth is really a kind of game that tests your general knowledge in the veins of Trivial Pursuit. For every correct answer you get, it brings you a step closer to saving a tree. It's a pretty fun game and addictive to boot. I tried it out and and was hooked. I just wonder how many trees I managed to save. At least I won't feel so bad about wanting to buy that all wooden home theater furniture set that I've got my yes on.

And with that, I pass this tag along to the following people who can help me save some tree on this miserable planet of yours ... muahahaha ... And the lucky few environmentalists are:

Adrian ~ Diamond ~ Marzie ~ Jen

Hot Cross Buns!

It's already halfway through Friday and I'm just eagerly waiting for work to finish. I've had a pretty boring morning and was even contemplating taking the day off. We had a public holiday here yesterday and I wish today was a holiday too like in some states over (well, only two states really) that are given a holiday for Good Friday. How I envy them.

Yes, it's Good Friday, an important date on the Catholic calendar. We're supposed to be fasting and staying away from meat today. I normally don't fast cos I always forget that it's Good Friday and half way through my meal I'll be going like:

'Oh my god, I'm not supposed to eat today!'

But by that time, half my food would already be swallowed down my fat belly! But this time I actually remembered it's Good Friday and am actually fasting, well, sort of anyway. I did pop a fish ball or two into my mouth this afternoon when I was back home during lunch time. I couldn't help it. I was blooming hungry. I used to be able to not take lunch at all and not be hungry but not anymore. I need my lunch time food to help me get through the day.

And besides, if I don't take lunch, I'll suffer throughout my evening run. It's definitely going to be a difficult run for me later today cos I'm hungrier than a whole barnful of pigs! LOL! But I just have to run today no matter what seeing as how I didn't run yesterday cos of the rain. I hope it doesn't rain though cos I seriously don't want to miss another day of running.

I was also thinking of going to church today but by the time I get home from work, it'll be a little to late. Back when I was kid, I remember we'd all head to church for mass and then when we'd get home, grandma would give us all hot cross buns which were freshly baked! I lived for that ... hehehe ... I can still smell the aroma of those freshly baked buns wafting through the house when we got back from church. We'd all (my cousins and me) rush in to the dining room to gobble up those wonderfully yummy buns.

And trust me, the buns were so utterly lovely, with raisins and all, that if you ate one, you'd be addicted to it and would need to go to a drug rehab or something just to kick the addiction ... LOL! Just kidding, but it was delicious. Unfortunately even that tradition has disappeared. Maybe I'll get wifey to start baking some hot cross buns for next year and revive the tradition in the Spiff household. I'll even be generous and give some to those slimy bug eyed Zorkians ... LOL!

Ever Been In This Situation Before?

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:

'Hi, how are you?'

I'm not the type to start a conversation in then men's restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed:

'Doin' just fine!'

And the other guy says:

'So, what are you up to?'

What kind of question is that? At this point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:

'Uhhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!'

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question:

'Can I come over?'

Ok, this question is just too freaky for me but I figure I could just be polite and end the conversation so I tell him:

'No ....... I'm a little busy right now!!!'

The I hear the guy say nervously:

Listen honey, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions!!!'

The Need For Speed!

The weekend as it always does comes and goes just too darn fast for my liking. But at least it was a pretty good weekend :D And on top of that Formula 1 season is back again. I'm a huge fan of Formula 1 and an even huger fan of the McLaren Mercedes team, I've been supporting them ever since I first started watching Formula 1 all those years ago. Of course, they weren't always running with a Mercedes engine mind you.

I remember when I was a kid, Formula 1 wasn't such a big thing back then. Now you get to catch the event live as it's happening unlike those days. Back when I was watching it, the circuit was ruled by the likes of Niki Lauda, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. The only time you could catch some action and even then, it was a repeat maybe one week later and it would be aired on this sports show called Gillette World of Sports. But it was fun watching all the same.

These days it gets even better with the live telecast and all those in-car cameras and stuff. Sometimes it makes you feel like you're actually in the car. But then, nothing beats the feeling of actually being there to witness the growling of the engines. And I'm lucky that my country actually hosts a round of the event which will be held next week. The towns going to to be abuzz with Formula 1 soon. There's going to be loads of promotional products everywhere taking advantage of the race.

Even though we've been hosting one of the legs here for quite sometime now, I actually haven't been to witness in in person yet, can you believe that? One of the reasons is the ticket price. A little too steep for my liking but I definitely will actually go and see the race live in person one of these days, you mark my words! But for now, come this weekend, I'll be snugged comfortably on my couch with a nice cool can of Shandy (yes, Shandy!) in my hand watching them slug it out on the hot blazing Sepang International Circuit. Here's to another good McLaren outing :)

A Long Kept Secret!

I've been trying to keep this a secret for ages now thinking that I was the only one who knew about it. But then I found out recently that quite a lot of people have already known about it and are already using it for ages. I should really get out more often and broaden my horizons a little instead of forever blasting Zorkian bugs.

'Ok, Spiff, just want in heavens name are you blabbering about now?'

Well, as shameful as it is to admit, I've been trying to keep this secret blog advertising site all for myself. I thought if I just kept this site called Smorty all for myself, I could get filthy rich and afford that new rocket ship I've had my eye on but alas, no such luck because each and everyone of you out there already know about them and have been making huge amounts of money!

Looks like I'm the only one who is so not up to date on stuff like these. Darn, I really should pay more attention to my surroundings ... LOL! Anyway, for those of you who don't already know what Smorty is, well, I'll explain in very simple words so even you lower intelligent species can understand :D

If you're looking to get paid for blogging, then you've come to the right place cos Smorty is just the site that you've been looking for. Smorty is basically a site connecting advertisers with bloggers. All you need to do is sign up, wait while they check if your blog is intelligent enough, ok that was a lie, wait till they approve your blog, which is not very long and you're all set to blog for money. Of course your blog has to at least be of a certain age and is active with some postings in there.

Now that I've admitted my long kept secret about this wonderful site, what are you guys waiting for? Go out there and get rich already and please remember to donate some of your earnings for my rocket ship fund. LOL!

Idol Night ...

I Just finished watching American Idol and I'm glad the person I thought who deserved to get kicked out was voted out ... woohoo ... I actually started watching American Idol pretty late in life. I'm not the kind who really watches TV all that much and the first 2 seasons went by before I actually caught a couple of episodes of it. It didn't really catch on with me immediately but over time I got hooked on the show. And now, I can't miss any episode.

My most favorite of all the contestants since I've been watching the series is Bo Bice. I absolutely rooted for that guy to win but as fate would have it, he didn't. I remember I was at work on the day of the finals. We get the show a little later here after it's aired live in the US and my colleague was surfing the net for results and when she told me Bo lost, I was devastated that I didn't even bother catching the finals on TV here. Darn, I wish we could vote cos I sure would have voted for him.

I don't think anyone else has really captured my attention until this season where I'm putting my money on David Cook. I think that guy has talent and will go far. But like Simon said yesterday:

'If this was a talent competition instead of a popularity contest, you'd be winner' (or something along those lines)

And I do have to agree with him 100%. And I'm being realistic with my predictions when I say that even though David Cook has got immense talent, he won't make the finals based on popularity. Oh well, we will just have to see how it goes. And if anyone of you, my wonderful US friends, would like to do me a favour, then please go out there and vote David Cook for me, k? LOL!

Oh and before I sign out, I wrote in my other blog Anything Goes! that I was curious about how much a Rolex watch actually cost and when I found out the price my eyeballs nearly popped out cos they cost as much as a small car here, well, today I found out that a Patek Calatrava cost as much a nice apartment here with some of them going for around close to RM70,000 and above! My goodness me, that much money for a watch! Siggghhhh, why wasn't I born a billionaire ...

Glad To Be Home!

It has been a pretty hectic and busy day for me today. I didn't even have much time to breathe let alone blast any bug eyed Zorkians. And the worse thing is, it's not really over yet. I know I still have piles of work waiting for me at the office tomorrow. Even staying back late today didn't really solve all my problems.

I actually decided to stay back and finish every bit of work I had but then it was American Idol night (yes, yes, spacemen do watch that show too, ok!) and I was also too exhausted to even want to finish it so I decided to leave it till tomorrow morning. I know it's not really a wise decision but then I don't always make wise decisions especially when I'm lazy and tired. Anyway, I'm just glad to be home.

I remember not too long ago I was complaining that I didn't have much work to do and wished some work would drop on my lap. You know that saying they have that goes like this - Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true. Well, I for one absolutely believe every single word of that saying! The only consolation is it's Friday and you all know what comes after Friday, right? Saturday, woohoo, the weekend :)

I live for weekends. I'm just going to stay in this Saturday and sleep all day and maybe work on that unlocked phone assignment I've been sitting on for ages now. In fact talking about phones and all, I've got an old unlocked gsm phone that I've been trying to get rid of for quite some time now. Anyone interested in buying it? Real cheap now, with a free leather casing and Jesicca Alba thrown in? No? Come on, going once, going twice. What? No bids yet? Damn! LOL!

Spiff, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers And The Groovy Glasses ...

Gee, I think I'm going to need glasses soon. I can hardly see the words on the dashboard of my rocket ship anymore! Oh woe is me, there goes my macho spaceman image. I'll bet the Zorkians are going to laugh their ugly eyeballs out. Who ever heard of a spaceman having to wear glasses. I mean, have you heard of Flash Gordon needing glasses? Or even Buck Rogers for that matter? No right? So, why should I be the first spaceman to have to wear glasses? Why? Why? Why?

Oh well, I guess I can't escape the inevitable. I'm just going to have to start searching for some stylish looking prescription glasses (what? you don't expect me to wear ugly grandfather looking ones now do you?) online and I think I know just where to start. I did an online search and there was a host of results found such as Best Thing Found: Zenni Optical and Great Discovery: Zenni Optical. With search results like that, you can bet your bottom dollar ZenniOptical must be offering some great looking prescription glasses and after checking out their site, I wasn't proven wrong.

Now, with the Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses, I'm going to be the most stylish looking spaceman around the quadrant :D In fact, they have a large selection to choose from that I was spoilt for choice. Their selections on offer ranges from frames, with single vision lenses, sunsensor (potochromic) lenses, tinted lenses, bifocal lenses and progressive lenses. And they're all pretty low priced cos they only sell their own manufactured frames direct to the customer, with no middlemen and virtually no advertising budget which keeps the cost at an all time low. So, the next time you see me, I just might be the spaceman with those groovy pair of glasses flying by your window ... LOL!

Terrible Tuesday, The Saga Countinues ...

Remember I said in an earlier posting that I was stressed out today due to work problems based on the inefficiencies of other people? Well, I'm even more stressed out right now. Just a few minutes ago, Mrs. Spiff called me and said that I received a letter from my insurance company. So I asked her to open it and see what they wanted now.

Apparently my insurance company says that I've not been servicing the policy for close to 3 months now. Huh? Come again? What do they mean that I haven't been servicing the policy for 3 months when it's being auto deducted from my card and based on my cards statements, the deductions have been done from my account. Man, this is not good.

While it wont be a problem calling them and telling them this but I'm sure they're going to make life difficult for me by asking me to produce my statements, my card details, blah, blah, blah .... God, that can be such a hassle. I've been through this experience before once long ago and in the end it was a system problem at their end and it gave me a headache just sorting it out with them.

I'm seriously not looking forward to calling them to get an explanation from them cos with the mood that I'm in right now, I'd probably chew someone's head off. Maybe it's time to get some new life insurance quotes and sign up with a new insurance company, one that won't already add to the 2,675,452 problems I already have!

TutorTech Videos For Dummies ...

I actually started learning, well really learning how to use the computer pretty late in life. Back in my time, owning a computer was a luxury and most people couldn't afford it. And the only time I could actually get access to a computer was at work. I didn't know squat about computers back then. And if it ever broke down or crashed which it was prone to do back then, I'd be totally lost.

I started off using the computers when Windows was still in its Windows 3.11 format or something along those lines. And just as I was getting familiar with Windows 3.11, they go and launch Windows 95! Darn, it took me quite a while to figure out the nitty gritties of Win 95. For me it was more of trial and error. Back then don't even expect to have any help in teaching you the basic of computing, the internet and even setting up your email. It was a skill best left in the hands of professionals who incidentally charged a bomb just to set up your outlook express email!

Imagine if you're an old fogey (or at least I feel old anyway) like me and you just discovered the joys and wonders of the internet, and you just got yourself a nice brand new computer with Windows Vista installed. You're probably going to sit there and stare at the damn screen for ages figuring out how to navigate the damn software ... LOL! Even for someone like me whom I consider slightly proficient in computers, I find Windows Vista a headache to navigate let alone beginners are just starting to use and enjoy computers and the Internet.

Well people, fret not cos now, you can get a CD-Rom on Introduction to Computers with straight forward descriptions and a thorough demonstration on the fundamentals of using the computer. The CD-Rom and its lesson samples are so convenient and easy to follow that you can just sit back in your own home and view the demonstrations step by step at your own pace. And if you don't understand it at first, you can just watch it again as often as you like until you become a pro :)

I wish I had things like these when I was first learning how to use the computer instead of learning the hard way and cursing the world and everything in it whenever the computer refused to cooperate. Oh, the tutorials are also available for Window XP as well. The CD-Rom is actually just perfect for parents and grandparents who are starting out with computers and are just too darn shy to ask your kids for help ... LOL!

It's Going To Be A Long Tuesday!

Gee it's only Tuesday, still a l o o o o o n n n n n g g g g way to go before the weekend comes around again. What? Don't look at me like that. Like as if you guys don't know that I live for weekends! I wish everyday was a weekend, now wouldn't that just be peachy :D

I'm know I'm blabbering so early in the morning but I'm so stressed out already. I've got loads of work and people aren't cooperating with me enough to help me get the work done. I'm in the midst of this project and have been requesting for certain things from certain people but till today I have got absolutely nothing. Well, not really nothing but some people are so slow in providing things that I'm stuck with not being able to move on with the work!

Arrrggghhhhh! I feel like taking my ray gun, oh, did I mention I got a new model? The ZX20081234567.3567 is just super. It comes with a flashlight and all ... LOL! I'd sure like to put a few people out of commission with it right this very minute. They are so inefficient and slow that I feel like screaming. And the worse thing is my boss is going to be asking for it soon, yes even us spacemen have bosses here on this planet. Now, on planet Zork that's different. I'm the all time high and mighty there. Everyone bows to my iron fisted rule! I am the all supreme! I am the infinite super being! I am the ....

'Enough with the self praises already and get on with the post!'

Don't make me come there and blast you to oblivion now you hear? Just keep your snide remarks to yourself or you're gonna lose that wise cracking tongue you have there. I'm already stressed out right now as it is. I just hope the people responsible can give me the stuff I need soon or they will be hell to pay if my boss screams at me because of them.

So, in the meantime, while I sit here and twiddle my toes waiting for them, I thought I'd put out a little post her seeing as how I've been doing just too many assignment one after the other and I'm sure you guys are not really at all interested in my assignments right? But hey, the extra money helps, you know. So bear with it okay! LOL! But seriously though, there's just been a little too much assignment posts over here and I'm going to try and change that by having a more mixed ratio of personal and sponsored stuff.

Anyway, since I'm so 'free' right now I'm going to go do some blog hopping. Hope you guys are all home and have some great entertaining (but then, you guys always do have great stories ... hehehe) stories to keep me occupied. See you guys soon, k?

Get Organized!

If you're looking to get your home organized, there's really is nothing worse than doing it yourself and not having the slightest idea how to actually get it done. However, Richmond home organization doesn't have to be a stressful event. MethodORG is an expert at assisting their clients get their homes organized by maximizing space and installing devices to help in the organizing process. Now isn't that just cool? No matter which room of the house you're intending to organize, letting MethodORG, a leading Richmond garage organization company, help you is a great way to get things moving. Trust me, you'll be happy you got in touch with them. Now if only they had a branch here in my country ... LOL!

Flower Power ...

With the internet we can basically do just about anything with it. Anything we need, doesn't matter where in the world it's from, with a click of the button, we can get it, of course you do have to pay for it though. LOL! I remember the first time I actually used the internet to purchase something online. It was for Valentine's day years ago where I decided to Buy Flowers online and send it to the then not yet Mrs. Spiff.

Back then they really didn't have all that much online Online Florists for me to choose from, unlike today. With the ever increasing popularity of online shopping, if I wanted to Send Roses, a potted plants, or any other kind of Flowers, all I would have to do is just do a search and I'd be given a few hundred if not thousands of options to chose from, which really does pose a little problem for me at times as I'm pretty indecisive when it comes to buying stuff online, even for something as simple as buy a bunch of flowers ... LOL!

Upgrading Time ...

I've been thinking of giving my house a new look. I'm a little fed up with the current look. The last time Mrs. Spiff and me redecorated the place was last year. We really did a lot of major works that time. We repainted the whole house, well, the living, kitchen and bedrooms anyway. Added a few shelving units to the wall. But staring at the same things day in and day out can get a little boring.

I've been thinking of adding a few new Cabinets and a couple more units of Window Shutters. Aand I know just the place to source for them. Accent Building Products has loads of great selection of cabinets, Crown Molding, and other home improvement options that I could look at be it my bathrooms, my Kitchen or just about any room in my house.

I really do enjoy doing all these home improvement stuff myself. And I haven't used my power tools for a very long time already. Maybe this weekend it would be time to take them out of storage and start working on something :D

Some Bull Fighting Anyone?

It's been a tiring weekend for me. Woke up real early to go do my civic obligation, which was to vote for my chosen candidate in the recently concluded General Elections. Went and voted very early when the place was much emptier that early in the morning. That idea worked and I was in and out of the place in hardly 3 minutes :D

We don't have polls on Planet Zork so it was kinda fun casting my vote here. On Zork, it's the fittest who survives and so far that has been your wonderfully strong, courageous and quirky spaceman ... LOL! Then later in the day, had some work commitments and even had to miss my buddy's little girls birthday party. Darn, I was so looking forward to the food I heard he had cooking!

And later that night, I kept myself glued to both the TV and the internet to get the latest on who won and lost in the election and there were quite a few pleasant surprises with the results. I would say overall I'm pretty pleased with it and hopefully there will be some noticeable changes in our lives here but until I actually see it, I won't be holding my breath cos whatever it is, a politician is a politician.

I was practically up till the wee hours of the morning keeping track of the polls result which had much better information and updates that what was being shown on the TV. I was kinda exited about the whole thing that I forgot to do my assignment on bull bars that I've had in my inbox. And to be honest, I just didn't know what in heavens name was a bull bar.

Hey I can't pretend to know everything now, can I? LOL! So I did me some surfing and found out it's that steel thingy you put in front of your car, sort of like an additional bumper. And by the fact that it's named a bull bar, I'm presuming that it's tough enough to withstand a direct confrontation with a bull. Though I won't be testing that theory. If any of you feel the need to experiment, please let me know the results once you get discharged from the hospital, k? LOL!

The Bomb Squad!

Some of my regular readers or what few readers I have know I created this blog specifically to make a little money from it. Back then I didn't want to use my personal blog Anything Goes to do any blog marketing, that's how this idea for a crazy spaceman in search of all things weird came about :)

And since then I've had my fair share of generating a little income from blogging. I'm the first who will jump at any opportunity I can find to make a little extra on the side. That's why when I first found out about Snapbomb, I was ecstatic. Snap what? Snapbomb, don't tell me you haven't heard of it? You poor uninformed soul. Let me enlighten you a little okay, so you won't seem so left behind :D

Snapbomb is actually a site that connects advertisers and blogger together. If you're looking for a way to make a little money, then this is probably the best site for you. It's actually pretty simple and doesn't really need any explanation but for you lower down the ladder species, I'll elaborate a little more so your tiny little brain will be able to fathom it better ... hehehe ...

Let's say you're an advertiser looking to create a little buzz about a particular product, site or anything whatsoever. And what better way to do that than to get bloggers like you and me to write an opinion or a review on a particular product and pay them to do it. And that's where Snapbomb comes in to help both the advertiser and the blogger to work in tandem together to reap the benefits. Still with me so far you puny brained humans?

Once you sign up and add your blog, which will be approved in a jiffy if it qualifies unlike their competitors that takes months on end to get your blog approved, you can already start selecting campaigns that match your blog, write an honest review about it with a minimum of 150 words (no big deal for a loud mouth like me) and you're on your way to getting paid. Of course your post has to be approved first.

The amount you get paid is basically based on your blog value and will be calculated once you do your first post. Snapbomb base your blogs value on its popularity, quality, expertise in the field, the size of your audience, reach and even feedback from your posts. So you should be getting some good moolah if your blog is pretty popular :D

So, what are you waiting for? Even a puny human like you can see that it's worth signing up and reaping the benefits provided by Snapbomb. I know I did and when I start making my first millions I'll try to remember all you guys, ok? LOL!

Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It ...

Any of you guys out there interested in making some decent money doing some Blog Advertising? You are? Good, then let me tell you how. I'm sure most of you who are doing paid postings would already have discovered loads of sites out there offering tons of assignments for you to make money from. And if you're interested in adding a new one to that list, then BuyBlogReviews is the perfect site for you.

I happened to stumble upon this site quite by accident really. I was bored a couple of days ago and was just browsing around some group forums and saw this little posting about a new site (well, new to me anyway) where you could get paid blogging . Now, I'm not one who is going to refuse making a little side income so I went and checked it out.

The site is similar to many other sites out there but with a slight difference. When you search through their database of assignments, which has quite a few good ones I tell you, you can actually bid on how much you want to be paid for that particular assignment and if the advertiser thinks your bid is reasonable, then you'll be given the assignment to do and if you chose to accept the mission, Mr. Phelps, urrrrrmmmm, I mean if you chose to accept the assignment (been watching just a tad too much mission impossible. LOL!), then you have a whole week to work on it. Pretty cool isn't it?

And the best thing is, the moment I signed up and was approved, I actually got an advertiser offering me an assignment at a reasonable price at that. What else, I accepted it right away :D In fact after bidding for a few of the assignments they have there, I managed to win 3 bids, how cool is that. So, I'd advise you guys to sign up and quickly make your bids before I bid on everything there and there'll be nothing left for you guys ... LOL! Don't say I didn't warn you ...

Forever Young

I'm thinking of taking a vacation sometime soon. I know it's only March and all that and that I've been having quite a few long holidays the past two months but somehow I just feel lethargic. I don't know, maybe age is catching up with me. I'm not my active old self these days.

It takes me all that much more effort to do things that I could previously do without even working up a sweat. And by the time I do whatever it is that needs to be done, I'm totally bushed. Oh, where has my youth gone? How did it just sneak by and leave behind this old, slow, naggy person. Darn!

I've never ever given it a second thought that I'd grow old. I always think of myself as some 20 year old spunky and active youth who could take on the world and not feel at all tired. In fact, my mind and spirit still feels that way all the time, it's just that my body doesn't really work in tandem with my mind anymore. This old body is perpetually trying to play catch up with that darn hyper active mind that by the time the day is over, I'm the one who suffers!

Sometimes we think we could be doing the things we've been doing forever without realizing that there is this thing called age that creeps up and makes us feel like old farts. I guess I shouldn't be complaining all that much. After all I'm still only just 40 years young and they say life begins at 40. Well, I'm still waiting Life! Just where in heavens name are you? I can't wait forever you know! LOL!

Gosh, I've started blabbering incoherently already. Definitely not a good sign. I seriously think that vacation I was talking about might come in handy. The boys will be off for one week next week for the the school holidays so that might just be the perfect opportunity to pack up and head out somewhere far away. Anyone know of any good vacation deals?

The Sleep Platform ...

Gee, the months really fly by so fast. It's like the 2nd of March already and it seemed like only yesterday I was in the midst of preparing for Christmas ... LOL!

It's been a slightly boring weekend thus far. Nothing much has happened that would be worth posting here. Didn't even go out this weekend which is a first for us. Mrs. Spiff wasn't feeling too good so we decided to stay home. The weather wasn't too conducive to go out anyway since it rained practically the whole morning and on days like these I'd rather stay home and vegetate ...

I didn't really vegetate all that much though, did some cleaning around the house and even washed my car which I've neglected to clean for quite a while now. It looks nice and spankingly white right now. But as the norm when I wash my car, the weather out there today looks cloudy and I'll bet my bottom dollar that it's going to rain soon.

It never fails though, and this has happened each and every time I wash my car. It can be bright and sunny while I'm washing it and the moment I'm done, the sun will disappear and the clouds will come and then it'll pour kittens and puppies. I think the rain gods just love to tease me ... LOL! Since it's going to rain, I'm not even going to go out today and get my clean car all wet and dirty again. I'm just going to leave it nicely sheltered under the porch and maybe get my assignment on platform beds completed.

What is a platform bed, you just might ask. Then again maybe you're not as doofussy as me and actually know what platform beds are. So, without much further ado, I'm going to increase my knowledge and go figure out just what platform beds are. You never know when that knowledge might just come in handy! LOL!

Am I Compatible Enough?

Just last week, I ordered some new toner cartridges for my office. We use quite a bit of cartridges monthly, be it the inkjet kind or the toner kind, what with the amount of times we have to print drafts, visuals and presentation materials for our often fickle clients. And let me tell you, these consumables are not at all cheap. Even our faxes uses inkjet cartridges and the amount of fax spam we get is really hard on the cartridges. The worse thing is there is just no way to minimize this fax spams that we get and we'll just have to replace out inkjet cartridges in the fax at an alarming rate of 2 units a months!

Sometimes I wonder if using compatible generic cartridges might just be a cheaper option. I've heard a lot of people say that these compatible ones are bad for your printer, not vibrant enough colours, blah, blah, blah, but with the cost being a fraction of the price of the original, I really think it would be a more economical option for me.

Anyway, with the advancement in technology, I'm sure the quality of the compatibles, especially from companies like Inkers have improved tremendously which really is a more cost effective alternative to the higher cost of branded toners. Besides, all their ink cartridges are guaranteed against defects for a whole year even. They even have a thirty day money back full refund with a no questions asked policy, so that should give you an indication about how good their compatible ink cartridges are, right?

Well, I know the next time I'm going to have to order new ink cartridges, I'll definitely give them a look see to find out what they have to offer. It just might save us lots of money in the long run!

Burnin' Rubber, Urmmm, I Mean The Keyboards!

Now, that gadget you see up there looks like it belongs on the dashboard of a car right? Well, if your answer is yes, than you're absolutely horribly wrong! When I first stumbled upon it, I thought it was some kind of speedometer for a sleek sports car or something. I'll bet you wanna know what it is, right?

Well, it's actually a USB Speedometer device that you can use to track how fast you actually type! Yes, to track your typing speed! How silly can that be? I mean, what the heck difference is it going to make if I knew just how fast I was typing? It's not that I can type all that fast anyway. And most of the time I'm typing way faster than what my mind wants to say.

'That explains all the rubbish you've been posting here all these months!'

Don't make me come there and smack you now, you hear! Besides, that useless thing would set you back USD$39 and it's not something I would really want to waste my money on. But then if you're the kind who wants to know just how fast you're zooming by on your keyboards, then it's just the perfect gadget for you. But I suggest you take it easy on the speed limits now, you hear. Don't want you getting a ticket for going too fast now, do we? LOL!
